I was sad to see Jax’s portrait go, it was lovely to have his smile and warmth in the studio! I remember receiving the reference photos to draw him - I couldn’t wait to start his portrait and he didn’t disappoint!

I was told he loves to cuddle and get belly rubs 🧡🧡 you can definitely see that in his loving smile 🧡

I’m slowly working towards showing you the final portrait, he took over two weeks to draw so I don’t want to rush showing his progress ✍️ I thought this was a nice way of seeing the scale.

Some photos of lovely Scrappy so you can see him properly 🤎🐾🐶 I do like videos, but it’s nice to be able to zoom in on a still photo!

I made a few tweaks at the end (on his Mums request) so he’s a lot smoother in texture on his face than he was in the progress photos so you might notice a small difference!

Scrappy didn’t have a collar on in the photo I drew him from, but I was asked to include his Mums favourite collar, which is beautiful (though looked a little daunting - so much detail!). I’m so happy with the result 🤎🐾 I hope you like it (so far!) I have a favourite harness for my lab, Winston which is also brown and gold, so I loved this! 🤎

Jack the Ragdoll 🐈🩵💜

I meant to post these photos weeks ago, however the summer holidays took over 🤦‍♀️ how have the other artist parents coped over the holidays? I’ve managed to get some drawing and admin done, but social media took the hit!

The children are back to school today, so I’m almost back to normal! My littlest is doing half days for a couple of weeks and then I’ll be back to full steam!

I hope everyone has had a wonderful summer ☀️

I’ve realised I haven’t actually shown you my work space since I got the beautiful new easel, so here is Jack’s finished portrait in the moments after I put the pencils down. Showing you some of the chaos surrounding my portraits!

My workspace has actually been so much more organised since working on the easel as my colours are mostly organised in pots (not that you can see that here 😂), meaning I’m not constantly losing pencils on my desk (when they’re actually directly in front of me! Anyone else do this?!)

It’s International Cat Day! So it’s a perfect day to start sharing the gorgeous Jack 🐈

His Mom 🇺🇸 described him as a beautiful and calm presence in her life 🩵 and I found drawing him a very happy experience ✍️

You’ll see I included a background on this one too, instead of leaving the paper colour to show through. Which I really loved! If anyone would like a coloured background for their upcoming portrait, please do let me know! 💜
