2 out of 3 houses this morning had the key in the back of the door so we couldn’t get in without disturbing people.

Good afternoon and Merry Christmas Eve,

Sadly this week my business bank account was compromised and although I now believe that the issue is sorted I have chosen to change my banking details.

I know that most have already paid any outstanding invoices but I wanted to make sure that everyone has the new details as soon as possible.
I know this is far from ideal, it’s not easy at this end either but I’m sure the new banking experience will be much smoother for us as a business and for our customers.

The new details are being sent out to all customers and will come out in a newsletter this week, so I would urge you to amend the details you have asap and I will also make sure the new details are on all invoices going forward.

Once again I would like to apologise for any inconvenience this causes and also take this opportunity to thank you for your ongoing support.

🦠Dog Sickness Bug🦠

Urgh! There’s a nasty bug going round and it’s effecting doggies!!

Please be aware when taking your dogs out, I know we are all pros at social distancing so time to teach the dogs too!

Please could my clients inform me as soon as possible if their dog is experiencing any sickness and/or diarrhoea symptoms. Walks will either need to be cancelled or rescheduled to a visit if required.

Any dogs seen to be showing any signs of illness will not be walked under any circumstances.

The Christmas Elves are starting to think about the end of the year already, well its really only 7 weeks away!!

We are fully booked for Home Boarding over Christmas and New Year until at least 5th January 2024.

We are already taking bookings for 2024 and 2025, so please don't hang around waiting until the last minute.

Maybe the New Years Resolution needs to be 'Book the boarding, before booking the holiday!' for a few people 🤣

2023 has been an incredible year and I shall be writing the End of Year Blog for the website very soon, it's been a busy and exciting year.

Please do not try and book Home Boarding or Daycare through the Online System, these services can only be booked directly with Emma via text, WhatsApp or email.

This is to save confusion with Customers thinking they’ve booked services when nothing is confirmed.

There is a reason why we don’t have the service as available in the Portal.

Well maybe a few ropey mopey moments happened, let’s not discuss the mega tears that happened on Monday but I can’t sit around and let my customers down.

GREAT NEWS FOLKS…

I’m collecting my new van on Saturday!!

Thank you all so much for being SO understanding this week, I’ve cried, laughed, I’ve been angry and I’ve wanted to give up.

Then I got an email yesterday reminding me that as a company we sponsor the Prince William School Award for Resilience, and I got my sh*t together and found a new van!

Today is going to be a bit hectic, but please bear with me and if I seem a bit distracted it’s simply because I’m trying to make the logistics work.

On Monday I start afresh with a positive outlook and a spring in my step.

🐾PRICE INCREASE🐾

From November 1st the following prices for services will be applicable:

Dog Home Boarding:
£30 per dog per day/24hrs

Doggy Daycare:
£18 per day (8am to 6pm)
This will increase on a monthly basis by £1 until March 2024 and then will be capped at £22 for at least 6 months

Visits:
Within a 5 mile radius £10
Within a 10 mile radius £12.50
Within a 15 mile radius £14.50

Walks:
No increase but the 5 for 4 offer WILL end on 31st October 2023.

With the cost of living and an increase in general business costs I have held off implementing a price increase as long as I possibly can.

This is never an easy decision and in 11 years I’ve only ever increased prices once.

I have a few customers who have been on the 5 for 4 offer since the day I started with the franchising, and this just isn’t realistic to continue as fuel costs continue to fluctuate and I still have to pay costs to operate 7 days a week so offering a free walk each week just isn’t viable any longer.

We continue to offer a 5 star licensed boarding service within North Northamptonshire and try to be competitive with our pricing.

I hope our customers will be understanding and continue to support us in making sure we are always working to a high standard. If you’d like to make any bookings BEFORE the increase comes into force please message me before 1st November.

I have been walking Hattie for 11 years!

11 years of fun and today we went back to basics and to where we started… in a very small car with a hope and a prayer.

Just a quick heads up that today I shall be back up and running, we don't have a van yet, but I'm making do with the vehicle I have got.

Please be aware that I am unable to offer my usual large group walks and timings will be far from the norm.

Right now the important thing is that I'm getting to everyone that I can.

To those who I've had to let down this week, I am really sorry.

So Walter the Woofwagon is no more!

Today after walks I took myself off for a swim at Corby Pool and little did I know that would be the final journey for Walter!

The recovery guy said ‘thank god you weren’t driving it because that would have been catastrophic’, safe to say I am gutted beyond belief.

For now I need to evaluate what happens tomorrow with vehicles, as our other car is only a teeny little matiz! Great for getting around the country roads, not practical for group walks! So we will have to adjust while we get sorted.

I’ve messaged those affected tomorrow but for now it’s goodbye to Walter, he’s been faithful, loyal and dependable but at times a right royal pain in the arse, like today!

Thank you to everyone who has been affected by my inability to provide my usual smiley service today, once Ben is home I can get all the evening visits done and start looking for a new van… oh and if anyone knows of any good deals for a van or knows of anyone who might be looking to sell a decent van, please let me know.

If you need to change to a visit please do.

No walks will be carried out after 11am… it will be far too hot. Any dogs that haven’t been walked by 11am will be swapped to visits.

Just a reminder that we are now closed until Monday 24th July.

All enquiries will be answered on Sunday evening as I will be in Manchester until late Friday and then we have a rather hectic weekend ahead of us.

Ben is very happy to be in charge of the daycare and boarding and if you are due in please bear with him and allow him some extra time to get to the door. The dogs all know my routine, but might be a little confused at the change.

If you are coming in for boarding please make sure that you leave clear instructions for food, written if possible. This saves any confusion with handovers.

Quick Notice!

We shall be closed on 20th and 21st July as Em will be in Manchester with all her Scentsy friends, finding out about all the new scents, catalogues and stuff to do with whats happening later on in the year ( you know, the C word!)

As much as Ben loves all the dogs, it would be unrealistic for me to expect him to do all the walks and the boarding on his own, so I have taken the decision to close just for a couple of days.

I'll be back on 24th July, bright eyed and bushy tailed!

That first little face ain’t been out with me for a while… and the second little face is the reason I don’t get many photos 🙄

Miss Hattie has been off walks for a while with an injury, she had surgery at Christmas and because she is an old lady now it takes her a bit longer to recover. But today after nearly a year of no walks she’s back!

Taking it slow, or as slow as an eager Hattie can and she aced it! Look at that smile! She kept looking at me in disbelief as if to say ‘am I really coming out with you auntie em?’ Bless her heart. She’s the first dog I walked professionally and she has a VERY special of my heart. 11 years together little lady 🤩

Rio on the other hand… well, what a grumpus!

We did it!

Yep that’s it we got married!!

Friday 23rd June 2023 we took ourselves off to Truro Registry Office and tied the knot.

Ben and I would like to thank everyone who sent cards, gifts and well wishes ahead of our nuptials.

I am back walking tomorrow (Wednesday 28th) and cannot wait… I’ve missed all my amazing doggies!

The 'Out of Office' is ON!

We would both like to thank everyone who has taken the time to wish us well as we prepare to get married. Honestly I can't tell you how much it means to us.
