🌲Christmas is approaching rather quickly, so here are the last recommended posting dates for your orders.

Orders need to be received by 12:00BST on these days.

Friday 6th December: Canada, USA untracked
Friday 13th December: Canada USA tracked

Thursday 18th December: UK RM48
Friday 19th December: UK RM24

Please order early to avoid last minute panics!

Orders received after 12:00 on Friday 19th December will be posted out on Friday 27th.

⚠️ UK cold weather alert!

Please keep a close eye on the forecast as we are now in autumn, and the weather is very mixed and unsettled. Temperatures are plummeting this week, but heading back up again next week.🤔

Guineas need to be kept in an environment that is protected from rain / damp, wind and cold to help them stay healthy.

Are you ready for Monday's Bank Holiday?

o Do you know what time your Vets are open over the holiday period?

o Do you know where your chosen Emergency Vets are located along with their telephone number?

o If your guinea is on medication, does s/he have enough to get them through the long wheekend?

Guineas can be taken ill at any time, so knowing what is 'normal' behaviour for each one is really important. Often you only have a small window of opportunity to get them to a Vet for diagnosis and to start treatment.

🔥🔥🔥 UK heat alert.🌡🌡🌡

Today and tomorrow are going to be extremely hot, so please ensure that your guineas are kept as cool as possible.

Here are some useful tips from our friends over are Guinea Pig Welfare.

We would love to hear how you are all staying safe in this heat.

🔥⚠️ HEAT WARNING ⚠️🔥

🔥 Today is forecast to be one of the hottest days of the year🔥

🔥Fans and air conditioning units are a good investment
⚠️ Fabric bedding retains heat as does fake grass , that's what it was manufactured to do
🔥 Natural bedding eg substrate and hay, is cooler than fabric bedding
⚠️ Keep guineas in the coolest place possible
🔥 Frozen bottles of water/ freezer blocks wrapped and placed in/around the cage cool the air
⚠️Give plenty of room temperature fresh water and foodstuffs such as (fresh) cucumber 🥒 for rehydration. Try offering room temperature water in a bowl
🔥 Tiles and similar cool surfaces are great for laying on
⚠️ Familiarise yourself with Gentle Heatstroke Cooling Action and put your vets number on speed dial!

We've just had news of the first injury of the Olympigs. Team Planet Guineas' manager has just announced that Lola has had to withdraw from the much anticipated Pigathon.😭

Lola has a mystery injury to what appears to be her left foreleg, although we are unsure exactly what is wrong. She is currently resting in a lovely soft pile of hay, and focusing on healing her poor body.

Wishing Lola a speedy recovery.❤️‍🩹
