For anyone who can't face watching the videos, here is a basic rundown of what happened....
So what do we know so far? On May 8th 2023 in Tower Hamlets, East London police tasered a man and shot his two dogs, Marshall and Millions.
First reports by the media claimed that the dogs were killed after "woman was mauled in horrifying attack" by the two dogs. We now know this to be untrue....surprise, surprise!
The truth sounds more like this....Marshall and Millions got into a 'scuffle' with another dog. The owner of that dog tripped over a lead during the scuffle. She needed no medical treatment, and no injury was sustained from the dogs themselves. And there have been no reports that the dog was injured. While i haven't seen any footage of the actual incident, there is a video of the end, where the woman picks up her dog, and is screaming and shouting like an absolute banshee. Marshall and Millions were showing no signs of aggression.
So then fast forward to the video footage that we have now all seen. Marshall and Millions are walking with their owner, now being closely followed by seven police officers. The officers are shouting at the man. So the man stops, and turns around. Emotions are clearly high, and the dogs are barking, as i'm sure most dogs would be doing in this situation. They are not lunging or jumping, just barking and wagging their tails. They are both on a leash. The man then turns and starts to walk away after asking the police to leave them alone. Then a policeman with a shotgun runs up behind the other officers. More shouting commences as the man starts walking back to the police ( something they had asked him to do ). And the dogs again, start barking.
Then it looks like the owner realises that the policeman closest to him is holding a catch pole. The owner tries to grab for the pole and lets go of the dogs leash. The dogs are tied together. It doesn't even look like the guy let go of the dogs deliberatly, as in, for them to go for the police. The man quickly picks up the dogs leash again. The man also gently asks the dogs to be quiet, and they stop barking 😢
The man then holds both dogs by their harnesses, they are STILL ON LEASHES, and the owner lets go of one dogs harness ( yes, still on a leash and tied to each other) and the police officer with the shotgun immediately shoots the first dog. Then all the eye witnesses start screaming in disbelief. The man tries to pick up the shot dog, but lays him back down, clearly thinking his is dead. But if you look at the shot dog, he is still moving, still alive! Then the police fire off a taser, and the man starts to run away as the police get the catch collar around the second dogs neck. Police run by the dog and he makes NO attempt to attack. The police then start pulling on the catch collar, the dog is barking and squealing. The policeman releases the catch collar and the dog starts running towards his owner, who has now been tasered and is on the ground. The first dog that was shot, is being dragged along because he is still attached to the second dog. The officer with the firearm then shoots the second dog.
I have watched and rewatched these videos, and can see NO reason for these two dogs to have been shot. They were showing NO threat to the police or anyone else. They were just barking, scared and confused by all the people and noise. This was cold blooded, callous and brutal murder.
Hold the Met Police criminally accountable for the barbaric killing of two leashed dogs
