Our vans have a stop/start system so when in traffic the engine is off to help reduce air pollution in our community. They also use adblue keeping emissions low.

This is Minnie, she presented with sore skin flare ups, we would initially treat the skin infection but it would always return.
We ran a full blood panel to make sure there were no other underlying illnesses, which was all clear. Our next step was to sent her blood off to nextmune, a lab that can test for environmental and food allergies.

Cats often present with allergic symptoms such as runny eyes and nose, coughing/sneezing, general itchiness, sore skin around the mouth and face, dirty ears, patches of alopecia and sore skin lesions.
Many of these symptoms can also be caused by other illnesses, so a blood test is always recommended first.

Minnie’s results came back as all protein based allergens- chicken, beef, pork and lamb. Which was in her cat food!
Minnie is now fed a hypoallergenic diet- Hills DD as the protein molecules are broken down so she is much less likely to react to the protein used.
When looking at food allergies, it is important to buy a true hypoallergenic diet such as the ones made by Royal Canin, Hills and Purina.

Minnie has never had another skin flare up and has put weight on.
