One of my roles as a Animal and human healer is to listen to the client I have before me and to release unwanted energies they may be holding onto, help to release them, allow them to fully let go and hold space for them as they fully integrate feelings.

How is the weather where you are?
It’s pretty warm here today! 🥵 ☀️
That means a lot less activities for , she doesn’t like the heat.

I adjust our daily puzzle sessions to the weather to keep her cool too.

Good To know: when a dog is panting a lot, it is hard for them to sniff (almost impossible to do at the same time). So when you offer a puzzle that asks for a lot of sniffing it might cause the dog some troubles. The dilemma for them is: do I sniff to find my treats or do I pant to cool down?

So today I gave a ‘sight puzzle’: I put a towel in a container and added water, so the towel was just under the water level. I put some treats in the folds of the towel and Puck found them by sight and then had to put her nose in the wet towel to get them. A short puzzle session, a happy dog and a cold nose were the result ☺️

Handy tip is also locate the sting my get a ruler or credit card and brush it along the fur and the sting should pop out and reveal itself then take out with tweezers or your fingers

Has your dog been stung by a bee or wasp? Here's what Dog First Aid Franchise Ltd advise you should do:

🐾 Remove a bee sting by scraping the edge of a bank card across the skin - avoid the venom sac
🐾 Neutralise a wasp sting with something mildly acidic (vinegar or lemon juice)
🐾 Neutralise a bee sting with something mildly alkaline (solution of bicarbonate of soda)
🐾 Use a cold compress to help with discomfort
🐾 Contact your vet if there is any facial swelling

Rabbit facts ✨️🐇✨️🐰

Year of the Rabbit Fun Fact 1:

People born in the year of the rabbit are said to be extremely sociable and like to avoid conflict.

This is very true to rabbits themselves. Rabbits are by nature pack animals and so they like to be around lots of other rabbits and hate being lonely. As a prey animal there is safety in numbers, so the more bunny buddies, the more relaxed rabbits.

Many new rabbit owners tend to only get one rabbit, especially as commercially sold hutches are so small (too small in fact)! Or they will often pair them up with other small pets such as guinea pigs.

We however advise against this and strongly recommend that rabbits are kept with at least one other neutered rabbit.

It is also important that rabbits are bonded correctly first. This is because even though rabbits like to avoid conflict, some rabbits (especially male) can be very territorial! Having neutered rabbits helps reduce aggression.

Want to keep outdoor rabbits but know that a hutch is not enough? How about a shed conversion!

Converting a shed to a dedicated rabbit residence is a great way to keep outdoor buns safe from predators, warm in the winter and provide plenty of space to hop and stretch. Plus you get to personalise it as much as you want! 💜

There are several factors that need to be considered when converting a shed, such as natural lighting, ventilation, and escape and predator proofing.

This is my favourite little trick for helping to get medication into our dogs.
Often they are thrown off by the texture change initially.
When they realise this is something tasty too, they get a bit less suspicious when it comes to the one containing the pill.

⚠️DOGS and CHEWING GUM⚠️

Sadly we have had a lot of calls this week where dogs have become unwell after ingesting sugar-free chewing gum.

Sugar-free gum often contains large amounts of an artificial sweetener called xylitol. Just one or two pieces may be enough to make a dog seriously ill.

The xylitol in chewing gum can cause a crash in blood sugar levels leading to neurological signs, and can also affect the liver.

If your dog has ingested sugar-free gum, prompt veterinary advice is essential. Owners should call us for advice on the Animal PoisonLine 01202 509000. For detailed treatment advice, vets should call our dedicated professional line on 0207 3055 055.
