I met a lovely cat last night for a quality of life check 🐱
The owners now have a greater understanding of signs to look out for that quality of life is decreasing and an objective framework to check this. It can be really hard to separate emotion from pet’s health, so do not hesitate to get in touch if you feel you need help with this 🪽

Easter dangers part 3…

Lilies and Cats ! 🐱💐

Whilst it is lovely to have a fresh bunch of flowers in the house at Easter, Lilies are VERY poisonous to cats, and can cause fatal kidney failure.
Every part of the plant is toxic - leaves, pollen, flowers and even the water they sit in. Just simply brushing up against the plant can cause illness.

It is best to keep flowers out of the way of cats, or better still - don’t bring them into the house - cats can be inquisitive!
Call your vet right away if you suspect your cat may have had access to lilies.

2. Hot cross buns!

Hot cross buns often contain dried fruit such as raisins, sultanas and currants, which can be toxic even in small doses. They can lead to kidney failure, which can be fatal.
It is unclear why these dried fruits are so dangerous, but if you suspect your four-legged-friend has helped themselves to this Easter treat - call your vet right away.
