*** Found cat - Leswalt ***

This beautiful tabby cat (we believe to be female but not confirmed) has been frequenting a residents garden in the Mansefield Place area of Leswalt for a couple of weeks.

A bit nervous and wary but otherwise seems healthy. The residents are keen to ensure she isn't lost.

If this is your cat, please contact us to let us know.

MISSING FROM NEAR GLENOCHLAR, CASTLE DOUGLAS

UPDATE- we are delighted to share the news that Alba woke his worried owner up this morning in bed!!! We think he may have been trapped in an outbuilding somewhere, as it's not like him to stay away from his dinner plate for long?
Thank you to all thos who shared this post, we are sure it helped in him finding his way home. 😻💜😻

This is Alba and he went missing from his home near the Balmaghie Estate, Glenlochlar on Thursday afternoon.

His onwers are concerned he may be shut in some outbuildings and cant get back home. If you live in this area of DG7 2PE could you please keep an eye out for him. Please check outbuildings, garages and sheds.

Alba is a large ginger and white male cat, neutered and chipped.
He is timid so wont come to you if you spot him. He instinct will be to hide.

It could be he may have travelled, but we think this unlikely, due to the location and no one visiting in the last two days.

If you think you have seen him please get in touch with the Branch on the contact details below, with a location and time of sighting, also a photo if you can.

MISSING SINCE JUNE

This is Milo and he went missing from his home in Bowling Green Road, Stranraer in June.

He is a black male cat, still entire and not chipped. He is friendly.
Video of him in the comments.

Please consider, he may have accidentally travelled, so could be a distance from home.
If you could keep an eye out for him in and around Stranraer and further afield.

If you think you have seen him get in touch with a time and location, better still if you get a photo of the cat.

Bird watching this morning!!

The dark tortie cat, who we took into care last week, is doing very well. We've called her Kiko- Joyful Child.

She is very thin, so we are offering her small, regular portions of food. To over feed a cat that's been devoid of nutrition can make it ill. So we tread carefully, as we get her back to a healthy weight.

She's been someone's cat for sure. But who's?
We still have no response to our appeals and feel she was probably dumped where she was found.
We will be holding her for one more week, then she will start the process of CP vet care and ultimately, adoption. We'll then be looking for a new home. Keep an eye on the adoption page on our website. We do not respond to adoption enquiries via comments.

A bit of warmth

Thank you to everyone who responded to our request for outdoor shelter houses, for some cats, who's circumstances changed, leaving them without their normal shelter.

We spent the weekend getting them collected and then on site.
All the cats seemed pleased to see us, if a little timid. After giving them a much needed feed, we located areas for the houses and some warmer beds.

We think there are five cats belonging to this property. Sadly the owner had to go into care and the cats remain on site.
These cats have enjoyed outbuildings and access to a home if they wanted it. Some are more sociable than others. They have all been used to a quiet, rural life with one owner.

We will continue to feed and monitor these cats. Some may be suitable to come into care, some may need us to appeal for homes directly from site to another similar situation.
Some of the cats are bonded and need to stay together. We would be looking for them to go to new situations in pairs.

Food donations
Any food donations to support us with this small group would be much appreciated. There is a donation bin at Sainsbury's, The Pet Shop(Stranraer), we can also collect.
We are also supporting a larger colony of cats next door to this group. So food and outdoor shelters will always be welcomed.

Photos show some of the houses and beds, feeding time and some of the cats.

Seeking old rabbit hutches or wooden houses

UPDATE- we have had two rabbit houses offered today, which is fantastic, thank you so much to the kind folk offering. We would love to add a couple more, offering each cat it's own space, if anyone else has an old hutch they no longer need.

We are trying to offer a small colony of cats some shelter for winter. Their circumstances have changed, leaving them with less shelter than they've been used to.

If you have an old rabbit hutch or outdoor cat house you no longer need, we'd appreciate any donations. Preferably a wooden or hard material to give durability and warmth.

Willow or not Willow

UPDATE- Willow has been found and is now safely home.
We are still seeking an owner or information about the dark tortoiseshell cat.

We have had a lot of response from members of the public, concerned that the cat we took into care last night was Willow, a black cat that has been missing for a month, from McCormack Gardens, Stranraer. .

The cat posted as found, is with no doubt a dark tortoiseshell cat. Willow is a solid black cat.

We have attached more photos to put people's minds at rest that we strongly believe these two cats are not the same.
The first photo is taken with better light highlighting her true markings, second last night, but clearly showing a ginger diamond on the forehead and chest, pink beans and light mottled patches up the inside of the front leg. There are distinctive ginger and mottled patches, which would not occur with sun bleaching. She is a tortoiseshell cat.

The third photo is Willow, we see no signs at all of any hint of tortoiseshell markings.

We will continue to communicate with Willow's owner in an attempt to help locate her cat.

Can we remind cat owners why this is a perfect example of why micro chipping is so important. Especially so, for black cats who can be very difficult to tell apart.

MISSING FOR THE LAST MONTH

UPDATE- Willow was found a few streets from home and is now safely back with her family. Great news for her worried owner.

This is Willow and she has been missing from her home on McCormack Gardens, Stranraer for the last month.
She has always been a house cat and it is thought she fell or escaped from a second floor flat. She was not used to being outdoors.
Willow is a female cat, not neutered and is all black.

If you think you have seen her please get in touch with an exact location and time. A photo of any cats spotted may help identify if it's Willow.
