It's National Dog Day!

So time to celebrate all your gorgeous woofs, both those still with us and also those who we have sadly lost.
I'll start the ball rolling with Arthur, Charlie and our Toby dog too.
Let's see all those fur babies. 🥰

Ok, I'm terrible at remembering to post each week! We are just so focused on taking care of all your gorgeous woofs and fur babies, then something else happens and weeks have gone by before I know it.
So, how about we try a monthly update instead? We will post the best pics from the month and tell you all the comings and goings of Pens Pets!
Please give me a nudge if I've not posted by 10th of each month!!😇
JULY
What a mixture of weather, a big thank you to you all for being understanding with last minute changes due to the heat. Our 1st priority is always the dogs welfare.
A big Pens Pets welcome to Hunter and Frank, can't wait to see you enjoying your adventures.
Sadly we are saying goodbye to a few old friends, as they move homes. We will miss each of you terribly, thank you pet parents for letting us care for your babies. Farewell Mali, Bud and little Daisy...🙁🥰.
And finally our own Arthur has had an operation to remove a lump, he is recovering well. Although he is not a fan of the donut of shame🤣

Morning all, with our summer finally here (well for at least 4 days!). Just a reminder of how we manage our walks and look after your babies during this time.
* PM group walks will be in the woods where shaded and near water, they will be a more sedate walk then normal.
* As many walks as possible are moved forward or later to cooler times, yep we start about 7am.
* If your woof is home alone and you need a lunchtime break, we will either do a group shaded walk or a home visit. Depends on the breed, age and health condition of the woof.
* We both carry water, walks may be cut short if we feel the temperatures are too much for the dog.
* Dogs boarding with us, have access to a shaded garden, fresh water, fans and evening walks.
* Don't forget your small pets and cats as well, extra water bowl, shade and keep a check on them.
In short we try and carry on caring for the woofs as per normal, just adjust as necessary. 😊

We had lots of fun over the last few weeks, plenty of woofs spending their holidays with us too. Millie, Rosie, Ruby Darcy, Beans, Coco and Maisie and Dolly too!

As the weather is heating up, a little reminder of our policies and keeping your dogs/pets safe.

We closely monitor the weather this time of year and adapt accordingly. Our aim is to always put your pets safely first.
With dog walking this can include, reduced walk times, less ball throwing and slower walks. Walking in the woods or shaded areas, or if appropriate a walk near water to cool off in.
In cases of extreme heat, walk times may be moved to earlier or later to avoid peak temperatures, we can also offer home visits and comfort breaks whilst you are away from home.
We are aware that Adders are active in the area and take all precautions possible, fresh water is always available on our walks.
Please let us know if your dog is unwell or affected by the heat. This can be especially true of older dogs and young pups, also all flat nosed breeds can struggle more in higher temperatures.

Don't forget your cats and small pets during the warmer months, they also need extra water and a place to rest in the shade.

Good evening everyone, sorry I've not updated with a post for awhile.
We have been run off our little feet with walks, cat and small pet visits and lots of woofs spending their holidays with us.

So, what's been happening:

Maisie completed her work experience with us, she got completely stuck in and worked brilliantly. Didn't even complian when she got smacked with a paw, legs taken from under her, slipped down a bank and having to work with Martyn!🤣🤣
So a massive thank you for all your help Maise! Note...no students were harmed during the 2 weeks🙈

We have some new additions, welcome to Hugo and Bill and our old favourite Morse has been back for walks.

Phew it's been manic, lastly can I ask a small favor of our clients? I noticed we don't seem to have any recent reviews on Facebook or Google, so if you're happy to leave us a little mention it would be amazing!
It's really is the best way to help a small business! 🥰

Evening everyone, we have a few new followers on the page too so a big welcome to you all 🙂.
Two announcements to start with, firstly we recently had an inspection for the renewal of our boarding licence, we are incredibly pleased to say we have passed and awarded a 5 star rating😁.
Secondly, please remember that from19th April we are changing some of our prices, many of you already know as we sent an email recently. We have kept the increases to an absolute minimum, but with the general cost of living rising, sadly its something we had to do.

New prices are as follows:
Hour walk/home visit £14.50
Group walk £12.50
Half hour walk/home visit £8.50
Boarding prices remain the same.

5 years ago today, I started this little pet business. The idea was to have something for myself, to keep me busy in between the school runs etc.
Fast forward to now, we are a full on successful family run dog walking, cat visiting, small animal visiting and dog boarding business! With never a moment sitting still and guess what...we wouldn't change a single thing!!
We absolutely love what we have built, it's so much more than just being a dog walker, your wonderful pets become part of our lives, we are there with you through all the amazing joys and sadness that our fur babies bring us.

Many of you have been with us since the start, so a massive thank you, for sticking with us and letting us be a part of your pets lives. To all our new clients, thank you for becoming a part of our ever growing Pen's Pets family!!

A very sad day as one of our very first doggy clients took his trip over the Rainbow bridge last night. Thinking of his mummy today, thank you Jake for letting us take care of you. Now its your time to run free!🥰.

Ok, I'm becoming terrible at remembering to post each Saturday, so Monday is now the new Saturday or update Facebook day as I'm calling it!
We have been incredibly busy, lots of lovely new fur babies to welcome to Pen's Pets.
Just a little plea to all, we are getting several enquiries daily for boarding, dog walks and pet visits at the moment. Please be patient in expecting a response, between walking, visiting fur babies, boarding woofs and taking care of our family it can be awhile to get around to answering. But, I promise I will get back to you ASAP!

About Us!

Welcome to Pens Pets! we live in the beautiful area of Lee on the Solent, surrounded by several amazing places for walkies. We are Mum and Dad to two humans and to a few four legged friends! Charlie, Arthur (Doggies) Jazz and Ruby (Cats) even a Tortoise called Flash. Not forgetting the fish! Over the years as a family we have been lucky enough to have welcomed all kinds of pets into our home, hamsters, rabbits, guinea pigs to name but a few. Just recently we have added to our pet family, we have three chickens!!

We understand how important it is that you leave your pets in safe hands, be it if your away on holiday or a few days, out to work everyday or simply bogged down with hundred and one different things and just have no spare time. That is where we can help, we will pop in and make sure your faithful friend is happy and safe, you choose how long and how many times per day. If we are lucky enough to be walking your dog/s then rest assured they shall be the only pet we are responsible for during your booking. We pride ourselves on our one to one care, all our dog walks are just that your dog and no others, if you own more than one dog of course they will share a walk.

We are DBS checked and have full liability insurance, I have just finished my Animal Care course and now hold distinction passes in Level 2,3 and advanced level 4. Martyn holds a CSQP qualification with AMTRA so is able to offer advice for flea and worm treatments.

Insurance provided by Pet Plan Sanctuary and are proud to be members of the Professional Dog Walkers Association and follow their code of practice.
