Ann Bond Dog Training & Behaviour For kind, fair & effective dog training in Dorset. Ann has now retired. Ann is also a qualified Veterinary Nurse and has worked at the RSPCA hospital in London.
(13)

Ann has worked for many years with Vets and dog owners, helping them to understand how their dogs learn and advise how they can modify their behaviour using only positive reward based methods. She is passionate about improving the communication between dogs and their owners to enable them to have a happy, enriching, relationship together. Ann spent 3 years studying 2 courses - Canine Behaviour and

Dog Training for a combined nationally recognised qualification. She is also a qualified teacher, teaching Animal Care and Lecturing in Canine Psychology to students at Kingston Maurward College. She has trained her own Springer Spaniels in many disciplines including Agility, Competitive Obedience and Heelwork to Music. Ann has always promoted consistent ‘Kind, Fair, Effective’ training to both her Canine and Human Students for many years. This is also the policy code for the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT), which is why Ann chose this training organisation to join when she qualified. No aversive training methods, equipment or advice is ever suggested or used, so you can be assured your dog will be treated with respect and understanding. Sadly this industry is not yet regulated and anyone can set themselves up as a dog trainer, behaviourist or training school, without any recognised qualifications in Canine Behaviour and Training or in teaching adults! But we do have a National Council now working to change this. Being a Nationally qualified, teacher, trainer and assessor, also requires continuing professional development, through reading and attending seminars to keep up to speed with modern research and developments in the field of canine behaviour and training. This can then be passed on to owners for their benefit. Ann is an approved member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT) Number 00907.

We would like you to meet Chip, a stunning, 1-year-old Terrier mix who weighs just 11kg, with eyes that are sure to melt your heart at first sight 🥹

Upon her arrival as an unclaimed stray, it was clear to see that Chip hadn’t been exposed to much in her early life, and she can become quite overwhelmed with new situations or experiences.

The team has spent a lot of time building up her trust and working on growing her confidence with the big wide world.

We would love to find a family that will be happy to continue the progress we have made, and they will be fully supported throughout the rehoming process.

After slow introductions, Chip has found some four-legged pals at Lincoln Farm and has got such a cheeky side when zooming around with them off-lead!

We feel she could make more friends in the future with calm introductions, but she would be most comfortable joining a family with adults and teenagers, where she will be the only pet.

Out on her walks, she can still become apprehensive around other dogs, however she has been progressing really well and it definitely helps that she is such a foodie!

In order to take Chip on her many adventures (including the likes of Corfe Castle), we needed to introduce her to travelling in a car.

This was initially very scary but, over time, travelling has become more comfortable for this little girl, and she has even started to jump on to the back seat with a little encouragement.

Our team would be more than happy to show her new owners how she is most at ease when travelling, and discuss what tips will help to keep up this momentum.

As we have had the pleasure of spending our time helping Chip build in confidence, we have felt ourselves so lucky to watch her grow.

She has become the most snuggly of dogs and is so loving when she is on our lap, having all the fusses she could possibly want.

Her love for people has also helped tremendously with her training, as she is so eager to please and gets great joy in seeing her carers happy, so we can only imagine how spoilt her new family will be with affection!

If you feel you could offer this kind soul a forever home, please click here: www.mgar.org.uk/53130 and get in contact with the team at Lincoln Farm for more details.

You’d be hard pressed to find anybody in the UK willing to go on record and say they support the use of shock collars on dogs – and yet getting them banned is a chore and a half. Find the full story in our latest issue: https://shorturl.at/fvxGS

We would like you to meet this adorable pair, Gail & Vincent 🐱

Gail & Vincent are a brother and sister duo who are just 13 weeks old and arrived as two very nervous little souls, as they had not had much human contact.

Time and patience has proved successful with these sweet poppets though, and they are coming on leaps and bounds.

Vincent, who is the handsome ginger one, is the more confident of the two, and now enjoys receiving fuss from his carers, once he gets over his initial shyness of new people.

Gail is still quite shy, but she is curious to see what is going on and often likes to watch and see what we are doing.

She is not quite ready to sit on our laps yet, but, in time and with consistent handling, we feel this girl will get a little braver and maybe one day, she will happily sit on her new owners' laps, when they have earned her trust.

We often catch Gail & Vincent running around and playing with their toys, which is lovely to see. We feel they would be happiest in a quiet home, where their new family will be able to continue their socialisation and see them blossom.

Due to their age, we believe they would benefit from living away from busy roads, so they can enjoy their new surroundings safely, when they are a bit older and ready to go out exploring.

If you are interested in rehoming this gorgeous pair, please head to our website at: www.mgar.org.uk/52559 and contact the team at Wingletang for more information.

I wear yellow because I have arthritis and it hurts.
I don't want other dogs to jump on me or bump into me when they're playing.
Giving me space makes me feel safer and more confident, so I can enjoy my walks without fear of pain.
Thank you - you make feel so much better. 💛

Ann is no longer running classes or taking on Behaviour Cases due to well earned retirement and finally having time to spend with my own dog, family and lovely friends.

Please take care when choosing a class or
behaviourist for your beloved pet. The industry is not regulated and anyone can set themselves up as a dog trainer/behaviourist. They can take a lot of your money and worse - give you incorrect advice that can harm your pet or make an unwanted behaviour worse.
Do visit puppy classes without your pup first to make sure you are happy with the teaching delivered, go with your gut feeling. One bad session is enough to give you a lifetime of problems!

Ask your Vet and friends for recommendations and make sure they belong to a reputable organisation that monitors their qualifications, practices and CPD i.e - A.P.D.T., I. M.D.T., A.P.B.C. Kennel Club registered.

Together again. 💔

Could you offer this gorgeous pair a new home? 🐰

Hello, my name is Pixie and I am a pretty, female Lop rabbit. I live with my daughter, Bo, who is around 2 years old, can you tell that we are related?!

I am nearly 4 years old and we love each other very much, so are looking for a together.

We are friendly girls who love to hop around and explore and sometimes we end up sitting on your feet! We also like the occasional stroke, but we prefer not to be picked up.

Do you have space for us in your home? We would love to join your family!

Take a look at the website here: https://www.margaretgreenanimalrescue.org.uk/product289 and please contact the Church Knowle Centre to make an enquiry.
