We LOVE visiting Knepp Rewilding Project whenever we’re pet sitting with Rocco and Violet 🐾 Even though dogs have to be kept on lead here, the walks are so beautiful that we can’t resist coming back here for our daily walkies 🐶

The estate spans over 3,500 acres of marshland, scrubland and wood pasture, and its sole aim is to create space for wildlife to thrive. There are over 20km of way-marked trails, and we’ve plotted two of them on the new Walks page on our blog so you can check them out for yourself! You’ll pass cute treehouse viewing platforms, herds of Old English longhorn cattle, the ruins of Knepp Castle and endless picturesque, peaceful scenery 🌳

The first time we visited we sent photos of Rocco and Violet to their owners, who had never heard of Knepp even though it’s only 15 minutes from their home! This place is a true hidden gem, and definitely one worth visiting if you’re in Sussex 🧡

Head to the Walks page on our website and search ‘Knepp’ 🥾

We’re very excited to reveal the project we’ve been working on this Summer - a brand new Walks page on our blog! 🥾🐾

This is something we’ve wanted to add to our blog for a long time, as walking and hiking is such a huge part of our lives. When we’re pet sitting, we love to find new routes for walkies with our four-legged friends and when we’re not on a pet sitting job, we spend time in our campervan travelling the UK and hiking for fun! 😄

We hope over time our Walks page can become a huge resource to help you find new walking routes in different areas across the UK, providing you with inspiration to get out there and explore whether you’re with friends, walking solo or with a doggo by your side 🐶

We’d love it if you would head to the new WALKS page on our blog (link in bio) and let us know what you think! We’d also love to hear which areas you’d like us to cover next - comment below and tell us! 👇 This page is in its infancy but we have SO many more routes to add over the coming months, so keep your eyes peeled for more walking inspiration! 🥾

There’s nothing like fresh, early morning walkies in the woods to start the day, especially when you’re chasing three energetic Flat Coat Retrievers around! 🐶🐶🐶

Bramble, Nettle and Holly LOVE to zoom through the trees and bracken, exploring all the interesting paths and scents along the way! They all get a good wash when we’re back home and half the woodland falls out of their fur in the form of leaves, grass seeds and sticky burrs 😂 Luckily they all crash fairly quickly once they’re settled in the lounge, so we can enjoy a peaceful post-walkies breakfast and a cuppa while they snooze 🥰

Information about our petsitting business, and everything you need to know to book us as your sitters! 👇

🐾We have been petsitting full time since 2018, and have completed 150+ housesits to date! We have cared for a wide variety of animals over the years, from dogs, cats, rabbits and chickens to alpacas, snakes, cows and even peacocks!

🐾We always petsit together, so there will be two pairs of hands looking after your home and pets at all times. This also means we can take on more responsibilities than a solo sitter

🐾We aim to slip seamlessly into your routine while you’re away so your pets are happy and relaxed in their own home. We truly believe animals are happiest when they’re able to stay at home, instead of the upheaval into other accommodation

🐾We stay in your home while you’re away, keeping your property secure day and night and carrying out house care duties, such as watering plants, accepting deliveries and keeping your home clean and tidy

🐾We are fully insured so you have complete peace of mind that your home and pets are in good hands

🐾Petsitting is our full time, and only, job - so we can dedicate all of our time to caring for your pets. We give pets more one-on-one attention than they would receive in shared boarding accommodation

🐾We send updates and photos throughout our stay, as often as requested, and are always available if you need to contact us while on the sit

🐾While we have a base rate for our services, our rates are individually tailored to each sit when you enquire as no two situations are the same. To book us as your petsitters, fill in the enquiry form on our website - we do not accept bookings through Instagram

🐾We offer our housesitting services across the UK, with no extra travel charges

🐾Our available dates are listed on our website. We have a 3 day minimum for sits, and require a 25% deposit to secure the booking. Any last minute dates are posted on our business Instagram Bookings for next year open in October and we cannot reserve dates in advance

Head to our website to enquire about our services and find out more about our process: https://chrisandsuzepetsitting.co.uk (Link in bio)

Just a few little moments from our Sussex walkies with Betty 🐾 We love discovering characterful countryside footpaths together - we’ve purposely been exploring some new routes for an exciting project we’ve been working on, that we’re launching soon… Stay tuned! 👀

It’s so lush having the South Downs on our doorstep at this sit, whether we’re walking along the rolling hills or admiring them from below. If you’ve never been to this part of the country we highly recommend a visit, especially with four-legged friends! To read more about our favourite places in Sussex, head to our blog post - DOG FRIENDLY DAYS OUT IN SUSSEX - link in bio 🐶

It’s been a while! 👋 Hope you’re all doing well and enjoying the sunshine. We’re having a busy Summer with back to back house sits 🐾

We recently spent a month back at our Ditchling house sit with sweet Betty, roaming the South Downs and exploring the endless public footpaths through fields all around the village! This time our sit expanded as we cared for our clients’ daughter’s dogs for a week too 😍 They all get along well, aside from Betty grumbling when Ronnie and Lily interrupt her snoozing 😆

Let us know what you’re up to this week! 👇

Heading further north! 🇸🇪🧭❄️

As we drove towards the Höga Kusten (High Coast) we noticed the landscape turning whiter 🌨 But the Swedes don’t let a bit of snow slow them down - all the roads have been clear enough to travel along safely and so onwards we went! The High Coast is known for being one of the most picturesque landscapes in Sweden so we were very excited about getting there 😄

Our first stop was the High Coast Bridge, which is the third longest suspension bridge in Scandinavia (we already crossed the top 2 on our way to Sweden) and it signals the gateway to the area known as the High Coast. When we crossed the bridge it was covered in fog, but luckily there’s an aire just the other side of the bridge where you can park up overnight, so we managed to get a fantastic view of the bridge the following morning! ☀️

Our next stop was Västanå waterfall, the second highest waterfall in Sweden. Because of the melting snow further upstream, the force of the waterfall was incredible! We also found out the hard cold way that the snow surrounding the falls was pretty deep and it was up to our knees in places! 🤪

The area is full of amazing park ups - our favourite was spending the night alone at the top of a mountain in the forest with snow falling all around us.

After a lot of driving to get to the High Coast, what better way to stretch our legs than to get out in the beautiful landscape for a hike! We found a trail along the rocky coastline at Rotsidan, where the sun shone down on thick drifts of snow and ice, and we sat for a while at a rest place to take in the view!

Visiting the Dala horses! 🐴🇸🇪

Hand carved, hand painted statues of horses have become a symbol of the Dalarna region, as well as Sweden in general. We visited the tiny village of Nusnäs where there are two workshops producing Dala horses, originally owned by two brothers. We got to tour both the workshops and see the horses being made - each one is carved by skilled workers and entirely hand painted 😍

We spent a few hours here learning about the love and hard work that goes into producing each one. We then spent nearly the same amount of time in the shop, looking at horses of all different colours and sizes, trying to work out which ones we wanted to take home for ourselves! In the end we decided to get a yellow and a red horse as a memento of our trip! 💛

Wandering through the rainbow of pretty harbour buildings at Smögen 🇸🇪

We parked up late in the evening so the harbour was completely silent and still, the different coloured sheds reflected in the water 🌈

The rocks by the water provided us with the perfect spot for watching the sunset too! 🌅

Do camping spots get any better than this 😍

When we first imagined a trip to Sweden in our campervan we dreamed of parking up alone in the forest by a lake. We’ve parked up in some beautiful places so far, but this one might just be the perfect spot!

Catching up on a few highlights from our Sweden trip! 🇸🇪

Chris surprised me with a trip to a moose safari in Småland, where you can spot and are even encouraged to pet the few friendly moose in their care 🫎 They were so curious, it was fun to watch them moving through the forest!

We then spent a few days staying in Granna, exploring the deep snow-covered cliffs and discovering more about the town’s history - Granna is the birthplace of the famous red and white peppermint sticks! 🍭

Only a couple of days later the weather turned much warmer and we spent a few hours hiking through Store Mosse National Park, soaking up the sunshine and spotting wildlife 🌲

We’re 5 weeks into our trip with another 3 to go! We’re feeling more settled into day to day life in Sweden, and have enjoyed chatting to locals to get more of a feel of each place we visit 🧡

Getting to wake up to these views is why we came to Sweden! 😍

So happy we found this remote wild camping spot - dead silent, a beach just metres from our van, and tall trees all around covered in snow as more soft flakes fall past our windows. Perfect! 🥰

We made it to Sweden! 🇸🇪

Crossing over the Øresund bridge from Copenhagen to Malmö was quite the experience - the bridge is 8km long with an adjoining 4km tunnel at the Denmark end! It was so hazy on the day we drove over that we couldn’t see Sweden in the distance 😳

Once we’d pitched up at our campsite we took a walk to admire the bridge at sunset and stroll through the park, surrounded by hundreds of bunnies enjoying the last of the rays 🐰

On Good Friday we rented bikes and cycled into the centre of Malmö. Because of the Easter weekend, quite a few places were closed and we think it was a lot less busy than usual. But we loved seeing shops and houses decorated with colourful feathers and wreaths, as well as interesting statues and Spring flowers cropping up in the city’s parks! 🌸

We just managed to cycle back to our campsite before the rain set in 😅

Exploring Odense, Denmark, on a lovely sunny Spring day! ☀️🇩🇰

The birthplace of Hans Christian Andersen and one of the sweetest, most colourful cities we’ve visited 😍 We spent hours walking the streets in the historic quarter, window shopping for our dream house and exploring the little alleyways, finding whimsical statues depicting scenes from Andersen’s fairy tales around every corner 🥰

It’s even more magical coming here in Spring, as cherry blossom and bluebells carpet the parks throughout the city 🌸

Hallo from Holland! 🇳🇱

We’re on our way up to Sweden for a 2 month break in our van, and had intended to quickly drive through every country on our way to get there asap. But… on our first evening in Holland Chris realised he’d left his driving licence behind in the UK 🙈 So we had to wait a few days to get it shipped to us (thanks Suze’s mum and dad!) 😅

Even though it meant we had to change our plans last minute, it’s actually been a blessing as it forced us to slow down right at the start of our trip and get out of our hustle mindset 🙌 We’ve spent the past few days staying on an asparagus farm campsite, enjoying scenic woodland walks right from our van, exploring the sweet local towns and seeing tulips springing up everywhere! 🌷

We’re so glad that our pet sitting business keeps us busy and moving throughout the year, but we’re very happy to have blocked out some much needed time just for us! We’re looking forward to resting in our home on wheels, hiking, exploring, sightseeing and resting some more 🧡

Swipe to the end pic for a surprise 🧀👀

Wandering the moors with Floki, making the most of the sunshine! 🐾

This is one of our favourite walks to do when we come to stay with him in Dartmoor - the route takes us through forests, over streams, up onto the moors and down the lane back home 🧡 At the moment there are little signs of Spring cropping up everywhere, and we can’t wait for more sunny days for our walkies!

We love seeing people’s faces light up when they see Floki. This big, fluffy boy brings so much joy! When he’s really excited he does a little bounce, it’s very adorable to see 🥰

Taking Betty for a day out in Brighton and Hove! 🐾

Brighton is our home from home - it’s the last place we rented a house before we began travelling as nomadic pet sitters, so whenever we’re pet sitting nearby we love to take our four-legged friends here to re visit our old haunts, and find new favourites! 🥰

Even though Betty is 10 years old, she loved running along the beach, chasing pebbles and enjoying the sea breeze flap her ears in all directions 😅 She came with us into dozens of shops as so many places in Brighton welcome doggos inside - she even scored a few treats as staff had jars of dog biscuits on hand! She took a long snooze as we dived into a cafe to avoid the rain, then gave us her best puppy eyes as we devoured delicious food at Shelter Hall food market 😋

Brighton and Hove is super dog-friendly, not just in the shops and eateries, but SO many people stopped to give Betty a pat or a scratch behind the ear 🧡 It’s just one of the many reasons why we love it here!

For our fave places and recommendations for a dog-friendly day out in Brighton and Hove, head to the new post now up our blog! And let us know below - have you been to Brighton with your four-legged friend? 🐶👇

Snaps from our January 🧡

We’re still in Winter hibernation mode, taking things slowly as we ease ourselves into the year! As usual there’s been lots of doggo snuggles and chilly Winter walkies at house sits, with four-legged friends old and new 🐾

We’ve taken a couple of short trips in our van between sits, to Norfolk for a restful week to ourselves and Brighton for a few days of stunning sunset walks on the beach and seeing friends 🌅 We celebrated Chris’ birthday with both our families back in Kent, and carried out our Auntie and Uncle duties as our toddler nephew gave us the run around 😅

At home, whether in the van or at a sit, we’ve been drinking copious amounts of hot chocolate, writing for our blog, playing games, and having catch up video calls with friends around the UK and beyond (Let us know if you’d be up for a call! We always love a remote natter 😄)

January sometimes feels like the Monday of the year, which we think is all the more reason to take it easy! Let us know what your January highlights were, no matter how small 👇
