A while ago a young pup came to me for a holiday. He arrived happy, obviously well cared for and loved, bouncy and well socialised but he was underweight - despite being fed the "recommended" amount of a good quality well known dog food brand - and hungry all of the time and his owners were struggling to find the cause of his problems. He was restless, ate various rotting objects, animal poo, mud and other matter when on walks and seemed to have runny or squidgy💩 continually, his ears were red and they had quite a lot of wax.
All this indicated an intolerance to something in his diet. After a consultation with his owners we decided to take action and we switched his food immediately, allowing him to eat as much as he needed (no measuring) to prevent eating unwanted items out on his walks. He's now a happy healthy pup who's growing at a rate he should for his age and size. 🥰 I'm always happy to help owners find the right food and feeding regime for their doggos. All the above behaviours are an indication of allergies. The food we give our furry pals is so important. They rely on us to provide a balanced diet for them in order for them to grow and be healthy.

Sunday tip. Dont throw away all your Sunday roast scraps - sweet potato peelings, carrot peelings, broccoli stumps, parsnip peelings, green bean ends - chop them up and pop them in the steamer. You can add these to your pooches breakfast throughout the week to add nutrients and variety to their diet without spending extra money 🙌 dogs need a variety of vitamins and minerals to stay healthy, just like us. Just remember to start slowly if their digestive system isn't used to it!

I take the care and safety of all my lovely doggos and everyone I come into contact with on our adventures very seriously. In all my 28 years of working and owning my own dogs I've never heard of anything like this tragic event 😔💔

A message of support for all the professional dog walkers the length of the country who step out today to carry on their work in animal care.

Please bear in mind, that although the tragic event that happened on Thursday is shocking to hear, it’s exceedingly rare. In our almost 20 years operating I have never heard of such a thing, and hope never to again.

Don’t cast assumptions based on media coverage. A full investigation must take place before anyone can say anything. Don’t get caught up in media hype.

Our heartfelt condolences go out to the young woman’s family, friends & colleagues.
