Tuesday afternoon 🐾

The rain carried on into the afternoon for Bonnie, Callie, Teddy S, Max, Teddy and Scout.
But that didn’t stop this group from enjoying some zoomies, games and having a dig and sniff in the soggy playground ☔️🐾☺️

Ghillie, Tucker, Flòraidh, Murphy, Fudge and Arlo all enjoyed some playground fun this morning.
There was lots of race and chase, wrestles and many laps sniffing and exploring in the

Tuesday afternoon 🍬

There was more sniffing and chasing to enjoy this afternoon as Cooper, Willow, Theo, Rudi and Blu joined me at the Playground 🚀. The rain also joined us so we made sure to run, jump, snack and snuffle to keep warm as we wandered through the field 🌿. Willow and Rudi paired up for a few fast and crazy chase games, with Blu joining in on the action a couple of times too 🤭. Cooper was happy exploring, enjoying the peace to sniff and snuffle and Theo had found the tyre toy, so he paraded it here and there, stopping to show me and see if I'd hide it for him ☺️. Sl we had a few games of Find It with the toy before group Find It with treats in the grass 🌿🍬. Even Willow joined in with the snack hunt🍬. Then we all wandered here and there, collecting smells and enjoying the quiet before the games started again. Rudi can't sit still yet, so he whizzed everywhere as Blu and Cooper went on one last snack hunt, Theo set the toy down and went for a sniff and Willow took her spot to sit and enjoy the view 😊. The rain got heavier and the sky got darker, so we had a game of name recognition as we took shelter out of the wind then it was time for Blu, Rudi and Willow to have their last chase 🚀 as Theo and Cooper played Search by the cubeslide🧐. We were glad to get back to the van and get the heating on for the drive home 🥶 .

Tuesday morning 🍬

It was all about the sniffing for Haggis this morning as he led me to the big field. After a splash in the puddle😅, he was off for a short run to the stones to see what smells he could find ☺️. He led me all the way to the big boulder, where we sat for a while, watching the windmills and listening to the birds before we made our way further into the field for more sniffing 🌿. We played tricky Find It 🍬🍬and practiced check ins as well as playing chase🚀 and enjoying free time to explore 🥰 before it was time to head home to dry off 🤭.

It was a drizzly morning of madness at the Playground with Cora, Cody, Willow, Blue, Casper, Rolo and Archie 😄.
We started with a quiet loop round the middle field, enjoying the smells and soggy grass 🌿. Then Blue, Rolo, Archie, Cora, Cody and Willow joined up for a chase, race and sniff together. Casper and I had our own fun playing Find It 🍬, practicing Search 🧐and having lots of cuddles 🥰. The chase group stopped to catch their breath and enjoy a sniff around in the end field before we all played Find It near the banking🌿🍬. Once all the treats had gone, the group split up for more games. Willow and Cody ran with each other up and down the field, with Cora running to chase them when they went past 😆. Blue, Rolo and Archie had their own noisy chase and wrestle as Casper watched on, making sure to run in a few times before racing away again 🤭. We paused the games for another sniff along the fenceline before moving back to the middle field for the last of the rainy play 🌧. There was enough time for group chase🚀, easy Find It 🍬and a sit down on the big tyre before heading back to the van to try dry off a bit on the way home 😅🌊.

Monday afternoon 🌳

Buddy, Bella, Willow, Sprocket, Theo, Brodie, Dolly and Luna joined me for a windy afternoon at the Playground. We started off with tricky Find It, as the wind helped scatter a few treats far and wide 🫣🤣. Luna, Brodie and Bella spent the most time searching for the snacks 🍬 as Willow, Buddy and Theo wandered off to explore. Sprocket and Dolly headed for the shelter of the sandpit before braving a slow sniff round the field together🌿. We all spent a while enjoying quiet exploring and catching up on the smells brought in on the wind before we followed Sprocket into the end field for a group game of chase 🚀☺️. After chase, Theo found the tyre toy, so he was happy carrying that around, as Sprocket, Bella and Luna wandered nearby. Buddy and Willow were happy still playing chase together as Brodie and Dolly headed back to explore the middle field in peace 🤭. After more sniffing and chasing, we joined Dolly in the middle field for one last game of Find It, name recognition and Sit practice 🍬🍬 before heading home.

Monday morning🌳

Dave and I enjoyed a quiet walk at the forest this morning. There were a lot of smells in the grass and on the wind to keep his nose very busy ☺️. Dave led me on a slow zig zag all the way to the secret moss path, where we stopped to practice doing nothing for a few minutes. It was very hard to sit still when all around us were strange noises 🤭. It was just the wind in the trees so we listened to it and ate a snack or two before moving on for some splashing in the muddy ditch 🤭. Dave decided we'd walk back along the boundary path, where we got caught in the rain as we had fun Searching, digging and practicing Focus 🍬 before a good slow sniff all the way back to the van.

It was a bit drizzly at the Playground this morning for Brig, Harley, Lexi, Novo, Mika and Ruby. After a slow sniff round the middle field, the group raced into the end field to play 🚀. Mika and Ruby bounced and chased, Novo and Brig raced and wrestled as Harley and Lexi explored 🌿. We all enjoyed a couple of slow loops to explore and sniff before a game of Find It at the pink tyre 🍬🍬. Harley and I sat out of group chase, leaving the others to run to the platform and back a few times🚀. We all took another break for more exploring as we wandered through the end field and back to the middle field 🌿. It was so windy but the rain had gone, so we made the most of it, choosing to either sit and catch the smells on the wind, or snuffle in the long grass. The rain came back just as we started our last loop of the field and after one last soggy snuffle, we raced back to the van to dry off and head home ☺️.

Thursday afternoon 🍂

Nala, Izzy, Zoose, Callie, Rosie, Bonnie, Teddy and Arlo joined me at the playground this afternoon.
The frost was all away by the time we arrived but there was still plenty of good spots to sniff and explore and everyone enjoyed playing and crushing the ice in the paddling pools 🥶😆
Nala, Teddy and and Zoose had some race and chase, while Izzy, Bonnie and Callie had their own running games 🚀🚀
Arlo enjoyed lots of sniffing and once the big group game of race and chase began he joined in 😆🚀
Callie invited Rosie to play some games before they headed up the hillside to joined Teddy and Bonnie on some exploring adventures🍂
The finish to our afternoon was spent playing some treat finding games and one last run around before we headed home.

Thursday morning 🍂

The playground was looking pretty and white this morning for Doris, Fergus, Archie, Daisy, Flòraidh, Buddy and Fudge.
There was plenty of games, wrestling and running this morning as Doris, Fergus, Buddy and Archie had their weekly party together chasing and racing with Fudge and Daisy joining in throughout the morning
too!😁🚀
Flòraidh had started her own games with the tiny tyre and it started out with Buddy and Daisy chasing about her Flòraidh and once Fergus spotted this he joined in😆
There was lots of rolling around in the frost and having a dig and sniff around at the solid ground ❄️🥶
After spending a lot of the morning enjoying a good run around we did finish things up enjoying some laps wondering the playground together 🍂

Thursday afternoon 🌿

It was a busy afternoon at the Playground as Blue and Casper joined Sprocket, Scooby, Buddy, Luna, Rudi and Blu for lots of games ☺️. After starting off with a slow sniff, the group split into two separate play groups. Buddy, Sprocket, Luna, Blu and Rudi were the fast chase group, whizzing around, taking turns to be chased 🚀 as Blue, Casper and Scooby had their own fun, at a slower pace, with lots of exploring together in the grass 😄🌾. In between the chase games, we all met up for sniffing, Find It and name recognition🍬🍬 before wandering off to enjoy quiet time doing our own thing. There were lots of smells to enjoy and more games to play as we all looped the field for a while. We stopped at the icy pool where Rudi, Luna and Buddy tried to splash, and Blu crunched up an ice cube 🥶. There was enough time left for a group race back to the gate before we settled down in the van for a well earned nap on the way home.

Thursday morning 🌿

Haggis and I had a wonderful start to the day as we explored the path and all of its frosty smells 😃. It took all of 2 minutes for Haggis to have leaves and frozen grass stuck in his fur 🤭, which I think makes him look even more handsome 😄. We kept things fun, with some tricky Find It in the long grass 🍬🌾and managed to explore a little further today, all the way down to the big stones,before it was time to turn back and enjoy the good smells on the way home 🌿.

It was a quiet morning at the Playground with Rosie, Jazz, Riko, Charlie, Oscar and Brig as we spent most of the morning exploring 🌿🌾. In amongst the sniffing, there were games of chase and wrestle with Jazz, Brig, Riko and Rosie🚀. Charlie was happy as he had the old football 🤭and Oscar and I had our own fun with Search and snack hunting ☺️. The games wound down to a slow sniff as the group split up for a while🌾. Later on, we played group Find It in the grass 🍬, had a race and chase, sat for a while at the pink tyre to enjoy the quiet, and more sniffing and snuffling along the banking before we wandered back to the middle field. We enjoyed a another wee sit down, then a few lazy loops to collect the last of the smells before heading back home.

Wednesday afternoon🥶

Blaise joined Millie, Betsy, Teddy, Molly, Ben, Cooper and Nala this afternoon at the playground for some frosty fun.
Not long after we arrived at the playground it started to snow a little so this just made exploring all the more fun❄️😆
Blaise was super excited to be joining his brother Ben and his mum Betsy at the playground and he also managed to make some new friends, both him and Nala, Millie and Teddy had their fair share of race and chase together 🚀
Betsy and Ben had some fast running games and they rolled around wrestling in the snow 😝
It was chilly for us all again as the fog still hadn’t lifted so we just made sure to keep all the move all afternoon, Molly was busy exploring and keeping up with the group as they moved through the fields and there was lots of race and chase throughout the afternoon with Millie, Blaise, Nala, Teddy, Ben and Betsy🚀
While Cooper did joined for some of the games she was also busy sniffing on the hillside and both Cooper, Teddy and Molly joined me for cuddles in the shelter as we watched the others race around😆🥰

Wednesday morning 🥶

A chilly start to the morning for Blu, Dougal, Casper, Flòraidh, Barclay, Izzy and Rhu.
But all the frosty ground and icy air just made the sniffing and exploring adventures all the more fun❄️😆
Having a sniff and roll around in the frost was keeping the whole groups busy for most of the morning, the excitement of the frost also got Blu, Flòraidh, Casper and Rhu running lots of laps around the
playground🥶🚀
Dougal and Barclay stuck together to enjoy some sniffing adventures for a while and Izzy wondered around at her own pace and joined the group once we played some ‘find it’🐾
Both Dougal and Barclay joined in for the big group game of race and chase and then Flòraidh and Rhu had some games playing with the log 😆

Wednesday afternoon 🥶

Archie, Luna, Willow, Theo, Blu, Izzy, Reginald and Rex joined me for afternoon sniffclub at the Playground ❄️🌿. We spent a while enjoying the frosty grass and finding good smells as we split up to wander in the field. As we all explored, Willow found a spot where there was movement in the grass 🧐🐭. She'd definitely found something, so Archie and Reginald joined her to help find the secret hidden in the grass.
Luna, Theo, Izzy and Blu had found something too...hidden snacks 🤭🌿🍬. Rex didn't know what to do with himself, so he ran around, like a loony until Willow chased him 🤣. When we moved into the end field, there were a few games of chase as Willow ran between Theo and Rex, Reginald hot on their heels, ears flapping everywhere 😄. Luna, Izzy, Blu and Archie kept out of the race line with me and we had fun practicing Sit and Touch. We all moved over to the banking for some group Find It 🌿🍬 with noses working extra hard in the frosty grass. It was getting colder, so we looped the field, snuffling as we went, before heading back to enjoy a quiet Sit down next to Willow. With frosty faces and cold toes, we managed one last loop of the middle field before racing back to the van to get warmed up on the way home🥰.

Wednesday morning 🥶

It was very cold for Luna and I this morning so we headed for a walk at the cyclepath. We chose here as it meant we could keep moving, stay warm, and Luna could enjoy the good smells at the same time. Luna zig zagged from one side of the path to the other, stopping at the very best smells for extra sniffs 🌿. It was beautiful in the frozen fog but it was so cold. Thankfully there is no water here for splashing, as it is far too cold to be wet ❄️❄️. Luna kept us moving at a good pace and we had a few races to see who was fastest. It definitely wasn't me 🤣. We had fun practicing recall to whistle, and checking in, as well as searching in the long frozen grass to see what was hidden in there🤔🌾. We kept things moving to stay warm and although it was cold, we enjoyed exploring in the frost and fog.

It was just as cold at the Playground this morning, so Millie, Maggie, Oscar, Charlie, Jazz, Rosie, Bonnie, Brodie and I made sure we kept warm with lots of running, walking, snacking and cuddles ☺️. The group spent a while looping the middle field, enjoying the smells hidden in the frozen grass 🌿. A light frozen rain arrived, so we had a couple of loops of the middle field, before heading into the end field for a race 🚀. Rosie and Jazz kept their game going for a while, as they chased each other round the platform. Brodie made sure to keep an eye on them 🤭. Maggie and I had fun practicing keeping all 4 paws on the ground as Oscar, Charlie and Millie snuffled nearby. Bonnie was busy snuffling too, as she had found something worth rolling on 🧐🪱😅. We all enjoyed tricky Find It 🍬🍬 and name recognition before a wee sit down in the grass. That didn't last long as it was chilly, so off we all went to explore the banking and play Search 🌾. We did another few loops of the end field, before moving back to the middle field for the last sniff, chase, cuddle and snack. The freezing rain got heavier, turning us all slowly into ice, so we made our way back to the van to get the heating on, eat a snack and warm up on the way home.

Tuesday afternoon ❄️

Teddy S joined Max, Teddy, Bonnie, Callie and Scout for some playground fun this afternoon.
The energy was high as everyone arrived into the playground and Teddy S ran off right away with Scout and Max and behind them Bonnie and Callie raced on too!🚀😆
Teddy and Scout went on to have some games together and throughout the afternoon there was many race and chase fun with all the group🚀🚀
We also managed to make plenty time for exploring and we as a group wondered lots of laps enjoying finding all the new and interesting smells🍂
Bonnie, Callie and Teddy S also joined me for some cuddles on the platform but Teddy S got into some more games with Max, Scout and Teddy😁
We finished the afternoon off playing ‘find it’ by the sand pit before it was time to head home.

Tuesday morning ❄️

A frosty start to the morning for Ghillie, Murphy, Flòraidh, Arlo, Tucker and Fudge.
The crunchy and frosty ground was keeping everyone busy for a while as we got into the playground as everyone was off enjoying some sniffing adventures and rolling
around😆❄️
Flòraidh and Arlo had some games chasing each other, later on Tucker got the fastest zoomies and eventually Ghillie and Murphy joined in chasing behind him🚀🚀
Fudge also enjoyed his share of running around so there was no chance of anyone feeling the cold this morning 😆
After some fun and games we ended the morning enjoying the sunshine and wondering some laps of the playground together 🐾

Tuesday afternoon 🍬

It was still sunny at the Playground this afternoon for Dolly, Willow, Theo, Blu, Rudi and Cooper 😎. After a race to the middle field, we slowed down to enjoy a sniff to find the good smells hidden around in the grass.
It didn't take long for Willow and Rudi to pair up for noisy chase and wrestle, leaving Theo, Blu and Cooper to practice Search with me in the long grass 🌿. We looped the middle field, enjoying the warm sun, before making our way into the end field for a race 🚀. Dolly decided she preferred the quiet time and headed back for a snuffle in the middle field on her own. Blu, Rudi and Cooper wandered off to explore as Theo went to see if he could find a toy 🧐. Willow and I watched from our sunny spot before deciding it was a bit chilly sitting still 🥶. We wandered to the far end of the field, for group Find It and Sit practice 🍬🍬at the pink tyre, then it was a slow wandered back, zig zagging from one side to the other, to join Dolly in the middle field 🌾. We kept things slow and calm for a while before Willow decided to invite Rudi for chase and they took off at full speed for the last play in the sun 🫣. Theo had found a squashed plastic ball, so we played Find It with it as Dolly, Cooper and Blu sniffed out the last of the hidden snacks ☺️🌿🍬.
Before we knew it, it was time to had back to the van for a snack and a snooze on the way home.

Caring for animals isn’t what we do, it’s who we are.

I have spent countless hours studying animals, both in formal and less formal ways.

I have gained two animal sciences degrees, one postgraduate diploma, and many other bigger and smaller qualifications and certificates. I learn on daily basis.

I don't mention qualifications because I think you can only be good with animals if you're qualified. Far from it. Although the amount of effort, time (and money) that went into deepening my knowledge, the stresses of it, the sleepless weeks that led to achieving qualifications, were all part of the journey I am proud to have been through.

The years spent doing unpaid voluntary placements and internships, in order to one day become a paid animal professional, are sign of my commitment.
