“Harnesses make dogs pull!”

Oh no… someone better tell this Frenchie and two *teenage* Labs casually out here walking on loose leads in their harnesses 🐾😌

Bit awkward that…

Because when dogs *do* pull, it’s amazing how quickly the trainers with 'quick fixes' come out — prongs, slip leads, grots, e-collars, or the old “just correct them, its communication” schpiel 😬

But here’s a wild idea… what if we actually *teach* dogs what we want instead? 🤯

Clear guidance, rewarding the good stuff, and a bit of patience goes a lot further than telling them off for getting it wrong 💛

Turns out… training beats tools every time! 😉

As Senior Management, we can expect some level of letting loose on her downtime with us, but the Labriotors Lyra and Ashoka will be sure to keep her busy, and Dali our Noodle in Chief will be sure to show her how great it is to kick back, relax and roll in 💩 probably 🤣

Quality equipment means the world to me, especially when put through the rigours that our dogs do, and this wee grey man is no less of a velociraptor now than he was as a young lad!
We spent a lot of time bending the ear off Modogo and with a lot of info and support we settled on this Tugadillo for Òran to use at flyball, as he is killing his sheepskin tugs.
The guys there are fantastic and you'll get solid, honest, friendly support and guidance if you need it.

This is probably my favourite photo of the week 💛

To most people, it’s just a dog standing on a log. But to Koray, this might as well be 30 feet in the air.

Our wee man is a sensitive soul (let’s keep that between us-he likes us to think he's actually very brave...😉). Confidence doesn’t come naturally to him, and anything that feels even slightly “risky” can be a big ask. So climbing up high, finding his balance, having a wee explore — and then getting himself safely back down — is HUGE.

What I love most? He chose to do it. He was curious. He pottered around. He problem-solved. And he succeeded.

For nervous or easily stressed dogs, achievable but slightly challenging experiences are incredibly valuable. When we gently stretch their comfort zone — without overwhelming them — they learn:

✨ “I can do this.”
✨ “New things aren’t always scary.”
✨ “My human won’t put me in danger.”

Those small wins build resilience, body awareness, and real confidence. It’s not about forcing bravery — it’s about creating safe opportunities for them to discover their own.

And sometimes, those quiet little victories just happen to look pretty scenic too 🐾🌿

✨❇️ POSITIVE START TO THE WEEK ❇️️✨️

There is honestly nothing better than receiving messages like this from our clients 💙

Our current Demi Board & Train superstar is absolutely thriving and that was after only two days! I couldn’t be prouder of him. The progress he’s making during this more intensive training block has been exceptional — but what makes it even more special is hearing that the changes are carrying over at home too.

Being told he’s more attentive, checking in more, paying closer attention, and no longer barging past to get where he wants to go is HUGE. That’s real-life progress. That’s understanding. That’s relationship-building.

Board & Train isn’t just about what happens in our sessions — it’s about creating lasting change that owners can feel day to day in their own homes. And this lovely message is exactly why we do what we do.

Watching him succeed, grow in focus, and make better choices both with us and at home makes me so happy. He is such a special boy, and he’s working so hard 👏

So proud of you, superstar — keep smashing it! ✨

🐾💪Fit dog-Fit for Life💪🐾

Why does a dog trainer spend so much time wobbling dogs on strange equipment and cheering when they do puppy push ups? 😄 Because physio and proprioception work is a game-changer for keeping my trio feeling their best!

Òran, my senior golden retriever cross, uses these exercises to stay strong, comfortable, and ready for all the adventures retirement *should* include...not that he has any plans to retire soon. Myth, my border collie, gets a safe outlet for that athletic brain and body, while Nyx, my young sighthound, is learning body awareness so she can zoom now and still move beautifully years from now.

Strong muscles support healthy joints, better balance prevents injuries, and the mental focus these exercises require is surprisingly tiring (bonus!). Plus — the dogs genuinely love it. There’s nothing better than watching them grow in confidence as they figure things out.

Fitness isn’t just for canine athletes — every dog deserves a body that supports the life they love 🐾
