You may receive an email from Petchip.network - https://petchip.network/petchip-network advising that your pet’s microchip registration has expired and you need to pay for it to be updated.

PLEASE IGNORE. THIS IS A SCAM.

The email comes with a link taking you to a page showing your pet’s name, microchip number and contact phone number. It looks very convincing but PLEASE IGNORE.

There is a list of approved databases on the government website.

Typically you would only pay a fee when first registering your pet or if you contact the company to update your details.

It is important to keep your pet’s microchip contact details up-to-date including if you move address or change phone number/ email address. Please contact your microchip provider direct to update your details.

⚠️ Warning Graphic Images ⚠️

After visiting the groomers, Francis came to Crooks for a consultation regarding the small hole in his paw, which had been noted by his groomers

Once sedated, our vets and nurses were able to investigate Francis paw further and just between his toes, we found the culprit of his discomfort... a grass seed!!!

Francis's wound was flushed and cleaned and he was given a course of antibiotics and pain relief to go home with. Francis is now on the mend and we wish him all the best for a speedy recovery! 🥰

Grass seeds are rife this time of year and are often found in meadows and woodland. They are small, pointy seeds that are attached to the tops of long grass stems. 🌾Grass seeds might look small and harmless, but in the wrong place, they can cause a great deal of trouble!

💡A top tip is to check your dog's feet and ears for grass seeds after exercise, especially if you have walked through areas with long grass💡
