⚠️ Warning Graphic Images ⚠️

After visiting the groomers, Francis came to Crooks for a consultation regarding the small hole in his paw, which had been noted by his groomers

Once sedated, our vets and nurses were able to investigate Francis paw further and just between his toes, we found the culprit of his discomfort... a grass seed!!!

Francis's wound was flushed and cleaned and he was given a course of antibiotics and pain relief to go home with. Francis is now on the mend and we wish him all the best for a speedy recovery! 🥰

Grass seeds are rife this time of year and are often found in meadows and woodland. They are small, pointy seeds that are attached to the tops of long grass stems. 🌾Grass seeds might look small and harmless, but in the wrong place, they can cause a great deal of trouble!

💡A top tip is to check your dog's feet and ears for grass seeds after exercise, especially if you have walked through areas with long grass💡

With the new cat microchipping legislation in England coming in on the 10th of June, 2024 if you have a new kitten, you may be wondering when you would need to get them microchipped by 🐱

All cats need to microchipped by the time they are 20 weeks of age.
This could be done during their neutering procedure so it can be placed easily and they do not feel it
