- Training Hub - Helping you to take the next step in your canine massage journey, whether its an in person or online workshop with one of team of Workshop Instructors across the UK or if you're interested in studying to become a professional canine massage therapist we are there to advise on training with the best to become the best. See us for more details at the canine massage hub!

Not all dogs find massage therapy easy to accept.
There are a number of reasons for this
* some dogs find it difficult to relax with a strange person they haven’t met before - this improves as they get used to the therapist and the massage therapy.
* some have levels of discomfort from orthopaedic conditions like arthritis- this improves as the level of discomfort in the muscles is reduced by the massage.
* some dogs don’t like lying on their side and prefer to lie in sphinx position or be in a sit - massage treatment can be adapted to these positions if they are more comfortable for the dog.
Lovely Lily, the miniature Schnauzer found it difficult to lie on her side and relax during her massage treatments. With the help and reassurance of her owner she has become more accepting and now happily falls asleep during her treatment.
Eddie, the very handsome Labrador on the left of the photo has had a couple of massage treatments now.
He is a sensitive dog who struggled with the first treatment but is now starting to relax.
Working with the dog and adapting what I do to accommodate their needs is an important of the massage treatment.

Custard is a 14year old Cockerpoo. She finds it difficult to totally relax during her massage treatment so I take everything slowly and keep checking in with her reactions.
The improvement in her mobility following her massage is huge and allows her to get on the sofa unaided which is important to Custard.

Lovely group of owners and dogs who recently completed the 8 week Foundation course of the Canine Conditioning Academy.
Even in that short period of time all the dogs were showing the benefits of increased strength and stability which will help them in whatever activities they do.
If you are interested in core conditioning for your dog watch out for details of the next Foundation course starting soon.
