URGENT - ALABAMA ROT❗️| A suspected case of Alabama Rot has been reported in our neck of the woods, in the south of the county near Ross-on-Wye.

🔹Please SHARE to make people aware!

Alabama Rot is a disease that damages blood vessels in the skin and kidney and can be fatal.

If you walk your dog in muddy, wooded areas of the county please look out for:

*Lesions or ulcers on the skin. These could appear as a patch of red skin, or as an open ulcer or sore most commonly found on a dog’s paws or lower legs, but they can also be found on a dog’s face, mouth or tongue, or on their lower body
*Signs of kidney failure include loss of appetite, tiredness and vomiting.

If your dog is unwell or exhibiting the above symptoms please contact your vet as soon as possible as early treatment can save an otherwise fit and healthy animal.

A post shared by Raw Dogg said:

“Warning Please Read! Alabama Rot. 🚨

“We have been aware of issues of this nature from other customers but please read this from one of our regulars.

“Just to let people know that my dog has been ill with suspected Alabama Rot. The reason I say suspected is because you cannot be 100% sure unless the kidneys are biopsied post mortem.

“Luckily my boy pulled through - one of only 10% that do!

“We always walk in the Lea Bailey Enclosure. Please make sure you wash your dogs off after having been walked.”

Field hedges are being cut tomorrow - the tractor should do the secure field area before you are all in. Hope no one is disturbed at all. J x

I am away until after bank holiday weekend now. Mum will run the field whilst I’m away - you can still message me/the page.
I have filled in all the holes, but mum can’t do the heaving lifting so whilst I would prefer dogs don’t dig, if they do, please refill any holes - there is soil and kit in the shelter, and bollards around to block an area if your dog is tempted!
Thanks all for your continued support. Have a great week. J x

New pool up 💦☀️ (hoping the rubber inside might help it last). Also re-mowed some of the pathways. Enjoy all. J x

MESSAGING PROBLEMS.
Struggling to be able to reply to some of your messages. Sorry! 🤷‍♀️
Please feel free to send me your number if I don’t reply (and I can reply on that), or send to my personal FB account.
I’m assuming messaging me is working for you all as I’m still getting them 🤔
Terri H - I haven’t been able to get a reply out to you for days; sorry, not intentional!

ROAD CLOSURE:
Road closure next week on the approach to the field from Coleford (Crossways traffic lights to the village). The best diversion would be to go through Scowles, then enter Staunton from the lanes. If helpful, bookings can be moved to after 3.30 when the road will be back open. Sorry about that. J x

😭 😭 Please be extra vigilant to make sure your dogs don’t dig. There were huge areas dug up and I did my best to fill but will need to go back again to sort further. I am conscious that the area might now be attractive to some of your dogs so please be extra vigilant so it does not get worse. Thanks all and sorry. J x

Remember, when wet, please park on the gravel rather than driving into the field. You can still get your dogs out securely by pulling the barrier gate up to behind you.
Thanks all, it will help keep the field in condition. Hope you’re all well. J x
P.S. Have more toys to add- I just need to remember to leave them there, they will appear soon 👀
