Neo the 4-year-old Husky Cross is on the lookout for an experienced Pet and child free foster home 🏡
Neo is a resource guarder and he has bitten in the past due to this, he would benefit from a home that understands guarding behaviors.
Neo is muzzle and crate trained. While he generally walks nicely on lead after the initial excitement, he can be reactive to passing dogs.
At present Neo is living with a dog he doesn't get on with, thie is causing him to become frustrated and redirect towards others, he may need time to decompress in his new home.
Lily the gorgeous 3-year-old Husky Cross is on the lookout for a foster home. She is a placid and calm girl that can live with older dog savvy children.
Lily hasn't lived with a dog before but is friendly meeting them on walks. She would suit another calm dog if there are means to separate and slowly introduce if needed 🐾
Lily is currently living in the garden so she may need time to adjust to living in a home again.
She walks well on lead, knows her basic commands and takes treats gently.
Eldur is a gorgeous 8-year-old Wooly Alaskan Malamute 🐾🐾
Sadly Eldur's gorgeous coat was in a terrible condition and the decision was made to shave his coat. Shaving a sled dog is not a decision we take lightly but in this case it was necessary for his welfare.
Over the months Eldur's coat has grown back beautifully and he is SO ready to for his forever home 🏠
Eldur is looking for a breed experienced, adult only home without other pets. He is typical to the breed so stubbornness is a given with this beautiful boy!
Eldur would love a home that will enjoy long walks and outdoor adventures. He loves going for a paddle in water and puddles.
Most importantly, he would love an owner that is willing to consistently work on keeping his long coat in tip top condition!
To register your interest in Eldur please head over to our website to complete the adoption application 💻
Meet Gambit the 1-year-old Husky, GSD & Malamute Cross who is currently looking for a foster home with SSDR 🏠
Gambit currently lives with children without issues. He doesn't live with other dogs but is good meeting them outside the home🐾
He is a young and friendly boy who can jump up when he gets excited! He takes treats nicely and has good manners but does pull on lead but walking in a head collar helps manage this. Gambit is crate trained and can be left for 3-4 hours without any issues.
We are urgently seeking loving foster homes to provide temporary care, for so many dogs in need. Could your home be the safe haven they’re longing for? 🏡
Right now, we have over 60 dogs who are waiting for their second chance—and that number continues to grow 📈
If you can open your home to a sled dog in need and would like to know more information please get in touch via our website www.saintssleddogrescue.co.uk/fostering 💻

This is Oso the 11-year-old Siberian Husky who is looking for an experienced forever home, could that be you?
Oso is a boy that needs time to adjust into his new home and to trust his humans. He can grumble to begin with but once he knows you he is a loving boy.
He is a hand shy boy that resource guards and has bitten in the past, however this can be managed with care and attention. Due to this he cannot be rehomed with children and would need a pet free home.
Oso is looking for an owner who is home most of the time and able to work on his separation anxiety. He know's his basic commands and walks well on lead after his initial excitement.
He has been patiently waiting for his forever home up in kennels 🏡
Odin would love a home to call his own, he is an 8-year-old Alaskan Malamute that is looking for a breed experienced, pet and child free home.
Odin does resource guard, he has bitten in the past but this can be managed with care and attention. Most importantly Odin needs an owner that will give him time to trust, he does enjoy fusses on his terms and he may take some time to adjust to living in a home again.
Odin LOVES to run at the off lead field, he can often be found in a muddy puddle having a blast!
He is good with basic commands and walks nicely on a lead with little pulling.
Blue came to us last year with her 6 malamute puppies and her brother Fred who have all gone to their forever homes. She is just 2-years-old and although when she first arrived was very wary and barky at strangers, she is now a confident, loving girl.
Blue is VERY food driven, she will do anything for a treat. Be careful though she would open your cupboards to find food. She is great with dogs but does like her space when eating, don't we all?
Bobby who is 1-year-old and came into foster care last December. Bobby was at the pound days away from being PTS. Bobby was too scared to eat and didn't trust people too much. After Blue took him under her wing and showed him how to eat and play he soon become the puppy he should be.
Bobby is now a confident, playful pup who has bonded amazingly with Blue which is why we would like to see them find a home together. He LOVES playtime and cuddles, he's great with other dogs too.
Starting Monday 3rd November, we’ll be kicking off our much-loved auction to raise funds for our BIG KENNEL BUILD! 🧱🐶
We’re so excited to finally be working on plans to build our very own rescue centre in County Durham – but we need YOUR help to make it happen. 💜
🐾 Do you have any unwanted gifts?
🐾Maybe some new, unused items lying around?
🐾 Or perhaps you run a business (big or small!)and would like to support us?
Every single donation will help us raise the funds needed to get our kennel build started and give sled dogs the safe, happy space they deserve.
We are desperately looking for a foster placement for Zeus the 8-year-old Siberian Husky 🐾
Zeus currently lives with another dog, he could do so again with careful introductions and separate feeding but cannot live with small furries or children.
Zeus is looking for a foster home with experience in resource guarding, he can guard high value items and has bitten over this.
Zeus is currently spending a lot of time separated from the family and is at risk of being PTS, he would love to be back in a home enjoying cuddles again.
He is a friendly boy who enjoys his walks and lots of fusses!

Saints Sled Dog Rescue
SSDR is a nationwide, voluntary run non-profit organisation, as we have now been approved for charity status. Our aim is to help as many unwanted and stray Siberian Huskies and Alaskan Malamutes as possible through the process of fostering and rehoming, or simply supporting their owners with help and advice. We also arrange and carry out educational visits across the country, including working and handling demonstrations.
We work alongside other rescue organisations, pounds and dog wardens to help ensure that all dogs are rehomed in the best possible environment for them.
At present, many of these dogs are being purchased and even bred by people who have very little understanding of the needs of these wonderful breeds. Whilst some of the dogs who come into our care do so for genuine reasons, the majority come from puppy farms, back yard breeders and un-informed owners. Through our educational visits and working demonstrations we hope to improve the future for these dogs, whilst we try to help the ones who need us now through rehoming and support.
All of our coordinators are experienced in these breeds and have themselves fostered and adopted Siberian Huskies and Alaskan Malamutes. Our volunteers are all passionate about the breeds and the work that we do. At SSDR, we will take any dog that needs us, regardless of its age or health. Any donations to take a dog into our care are voluntary. We are also happy to offer our services in assessing these breeds for other rescue organisations that may not have great understanding of their specialist needs. We provide training and 24 hour support for our volunteers as well as lifelong support for the dogs we rehome.
