Last night we received a call from our vets asking for urgent help. Two Labradors had been found dumped and tied to school gates. Both extremely underweight, covered in scars and wounds, and one with a badly swollen eye socket.
The vets believe they may have been used as bait dogs.
We couldn’t turn our backs on them, so we’ve stepped up to give these boys the care they desperately need. They both require neutering, vaccinations, microchipping, treatment for their injuries, and plenty of good food to help them gain the weight they’ve lost.
They’re incredibly bonded and must stay together. As they arrived with no names, we’ve chosen to call them Comet and Cupid.
If you’re able to support their recovery with a donation, we would be so grateful.

Take a 👀 at the GORGEOUS Jupiter who is now ready for his forever home 🏡
Jupiter is a 9-year-old Husky Cross German Shepherd that can live with other dogs and dog savvy children who will give him space.
He LOVES attention and being around his humans. He is a super loving boy who just wants an easy life of lounging around on the 🛋️
At present Jupiter lives with other similar sized dogs, he would love a home with one or two dogs for company, he isn't a fan of dogs in his face and he will correct them.
Jupiter LOVES to be out and about meeting new people and dogs. He is a strong boy on lead and can protest if he wants to say hello to another dog.
Jupiter can be left for periods of time with another dog for company. He is currently raw fed to help with his weight gain.
The Pets Foundation Santa Paws appeal is now live.
You can help raise funds for Saints Sled Dog Rescue by donating in Bishopbriggs or Drumchapel Pets at Home before Christmas Eve 🌲

Take a 👀 at the stunning Beau 🐾
Beau is a 18-month-old Alaskan Malamute who is currently seeking a foster home, he can live with older dog savvy children and other dogs with careful introductions.
Beau is bursting with energy and personality, he is a cheeky, playful and bouncy chap that would benefit from an active home and another playful companion, to keep him out of mischief!
A breed experienced home that can offer routine and boundaries would be beneficial.
He would also like a human who is home a lot.
If you can offer this bouncy boy a foster home please get in touch
Nyla the 2-year old Siberian Husky is now ready for her forever home 🏡
Nyla is a cheeky, playful girl who likes to do zoomies around the garden and play fight with the broom when foster mom is cleaning.
She is a head strong girl and would prefer a adult only, pet free home that has experience with resource guarding. Nyla can guard her crate and food bowl but often loses interest if you walk away but will need someone experienced in this behaviour.
Nyla can take a little time to warm to her new humans, but when she does she loves lots of attention. Nyla sits nicely for treats, she can be a strong girl on lead and will need someone to continue with lead training.
We’re participating in the Pets Foundation’s Santa Paws Appeal! We’re being supported by Bishopbriggs and Drumchapel Pets at Home.
Visit between 1st and 24th December to support us, donate, and meet some of our lovely fundraisers!

8-month-old Oscar the Siberian Husky is now ready for his forever home.
Oscar is a very sweet boy that LOVES life and going out on adventures 🗺️ he is a catty, excitable pup who would love a home with another younger dog for company.
He is looking for a active home ready to continue with his training and fun. Oscar isn't good with small furries and hasn't been around children much but is great with people in general.
Can anyone offer King a foster home? He has been abandoned by his owner and picked up by a rescue who sadly don't have the capacity to help him for more than 1 week.
We don't know a lot about him currently but he is getting on amazingly well with other dogs but is untested with children and small furries.
King is extremely underweight and nervous. If you can help foster King please get in touch ASAP.

Saints Sled Dog Rescue
SSDR is a nationwide, voluntary run non-profit organisation, as we have now been approved for charity status. Our aim is to help as many unwanted and stray Siberian Huskies and Alaskan Malamutes as possible through the process of fostering and rehoming, or simply supporting their owners with help and advice. We also arrange and carry out educational visits across the country, including working and handling demonstrations.
We work alongside other rescue organisations, pounds and dog wardens to help ensure that all dogs are rehomed in the best possible environment for them.
At present, many of these dogs are being purchased and even bred by people who have very little understanding of the needs of these wonderful breeds. Whilst some of the dogs who come into our care do so for genuine reasons, the majority come from puppy farms, back yard breeders and un-informed owners. Through our educational visits and working demonstrations we hope to improve the future for these dogs, whilst we try to help the ones who need us now through rehoming and support.
All of our coordinators are experienced in these breeds and have themselves fostered and adopted Siberian Huskies and Alaskan Malamutes. Our volunteers are all passionate about the breeds and the work that we do. At SSDR, we will take any dog that needs us, regardless of its age or health. Any donations to take a dog into our care are voluntary. We are also happy to offer our services in assessing these breeds for other rescue organisations that may not have great understanding of their specialist needs. We provide training and 24 hour support for our volunteers as well as lifelong support for the dogs we rehome.
