If there is high wind, this can affect your dogs recall. Some dogs are sensitive and can make them spook or unable to hear you calling. If in doubt keep them on lead and keep them safe.

Chilly weather.
If your dog needs a coat then they wear a coat.
If there paws are cold a paw rub when home.
Watch out for salt on paths and roads you will need to wash it off their paws.
I always use this weather as an excuse for extra cuddles, to share body heat !!!

1st session today was a pre dog session. A family picking up a rescue dog on Tuesday, house ready plan in place and everyone knows what they need to do. 1st time dog owners so support in place and I look forward to their progress. Waiting for confirmation as too his new name so many to choose from.

Jumping up at visitors can be a pain and they need to leave the temptations. Start now so it runs smoothly.

If your dog was upset by the Fireworks last night, they need time to decompress. Give them what they need like extra sleep, chew toys, extra affection etc.

Trick or treat tonight.
Make sure your dog is secure before opening the door.
If they may be spooked by costumes then avoid where possible dressed up kids/adults
Keep sweets away from your dogs, you know they will eat it.
Have fun but keep your dog safe.

Lots of puppy sessions at the moment. Getting the best start in life and training in the real world round real distractions and encounters.
Helps the owners deal with situations better when out and about without me.

On Saturday I went out with Polly who was reactive to dogs and a little pocket rocket. We have worked for 6 months on changing this and it was 6 weeks since I last visited. She coped with all the challenges including off lead dogs with very little recall, passing oncoming dogs of all sizes. Well done life has changed for good and the hard work has paid off.

Training should always be adjusted to suit each dog.

Cold mornings so it's dog coat out for my oldie, as we early walk. Lots of indoor sunbathing though for her.
The fresh morning means more smells and chasing about for my boy.
Always a change of behaviour as the season change.

This week is the start of firework prep week for dogs. I always hope the firework season is short to help the phobic dogs.
