Today we did a new woodland walk down at Dering Wood near Pluckley in Kent. There is a small free car park and two way-marked trails available. We chose the longer of the two and followed the yellow Surrenden walk route which was around 2miles and took us about an hour as the boys kept stopping to eat all the blackberrys! 😆🐾. Lovely peaceful place and would highly recommend!

Back from a lovely weekend away with the boys staying on a dog friendly camp site in Sedlescombe near Battle in East Sussex.
Campsite was friendly, clean and tidy and had an onsite cafe and small bar. The grassed touring pitches we were on did however feel a bit squashed in and the slope made setting up a bit tricky but the boys didnt seem to mind.
Exploring the area we found a great walk into the amazing Battle Great Wood (will definitely be returning here to explore further), a dog friendly garden centre cafe for post walk refreshments and then another walk into Sedlescombe village to visit the very dog friendly The Queens Head pub where the boys enjoyed a well deserved doggy ice cream.
Sunday we drove into Battle on the way home and had breakfast at Battle Deli & Coffee Shop. They welcomed the boys with treats and did a cracking breaky.

Boys had a great run at Dumpton Gap Beach! Water is shallow for quite a way out so lots of running around in the water and now both fast asleep!

We're on count down....get ready for this year's Summer Fete & PO'G Dog Show; Ponycycles are back, delicious pizza for lunch followed by waffles and icecream! Dog Show starts at 2.00pm and children's races from around 3.30pm. Get your team together for the traditional Tug-of-war close!

Looking for a dog friendly beach this weekend? Check out our review on Reculver with a pebble beach all the way to Minnis Bay or a cliff top walk towards Herne Bay. Lots of paid parking, a cafe and a pub for refreshments.
You can also park at Minnis Bay and then walk a short way up from the main sandy beach (this has dog restrictions) and the dog friendly section starts (look out for the signpost) and goes all the way to Reculver.

Every year, we see posts circulating on social media about rapeseed being extremely dangerous for dogs ⚠️

This understandably worries many dog owners. Many posts advise that even walking through a rapeseed field with a dog can cause burn-like skin abrasions and other serious issues.

Thankfully, these extreme reactions are rare, and although some dogs may react like this if they're particularly sensitive to the plants, the vast majority of dogs will not suffer ill effects from walking through a rapeseed field 🐕

However, we wouldn't advise allowing dogs to eat the plant, as it can cause upset tummies if ingested.

Please do not panic if your dog has been in recent contact with rapeseed, but if your pet is experiencing any unusual symptoms, we would always advise you to get in touch with your vet.

Out With The Dog is enjoying the van life with the dog at Coxhill Camping . Lovely dog friendly campsite near dover with a great walk into Shepherds-well where you can find a cafe at the east kent railway a co-op supermarket and the all important friendly pub called the Bell Inn.
