We also welcomed two new puppies to the group and enjoyed a lovely picnic 🐾

We're excited to announce details for the fun dog show this year! Many thanks to our judge Stella Baxter (Davistell) and to the Northern Newfoundland Club for hosting.

Entries will open on the day from 10am - £3 per class or 3 entries for £5

ALL BREEDS WELCOME, NOT JUST NEWFIES!

NEWF FEST 2024 CAMPING NOW SOLD OUT ❗️

Due to very high demand we have now sold out of camping pitches for this year. If you wish to be placed on a waiting list in the event of any cancellations, then please contact Vin Whiting via email on [email protected]. Alternatively the nearest public campsite is Waleswood Caravan & Camping which is within close proximity to the park.

A huge thank you to everyone for their interest, looks like it's going to be the biggest one yet!

We had a great time training in the sun with our friends from Fenland Working Newfoundlands yesterday, I'm sure there will be some red faces this morning!

Also big congratulations to our four new boat drivers that passed their RYA 2 course 🛥️

We train our dogs and enter tests for water rescue and draught (carting), we also hold demonstrations for the public. If you like Newfoundlands, this is the group for you!

What a fantastic bank holiday weekend we've had at Hanworth Country Park! Glorious weather, magnificent Newfoundlands, and their equally marvelous handlers, all indulging in their passions. A heartfelt thank you to all who joined us, and a special shoutout to those we convinced, bribed, or gently coerced into stewarding. Let's make this an annual tradition! See you all next year for another unforgettable event? 🐾

We had a fantastic weekend at Newstead Abbey celebrating Lord Byron's bicentenary 🎉🕍 RVWN were honoured to be invited in memory of the poets famous Newfoundland 'Boatswain'. The dogs enjoyed meeting & greeting the public, providing cart rides, boat rides & water rescue displays, whilst the humans enjoyed the sunshine and exploring the beautiful grounds around the abbey.

Lord Byron himself was even rescued from the water by one of the dogs! Certainly a weekend to remember 🤩

We train our dogs and enter tests for water rescue and draught (carting), we also hold demonstrations for the public. If you like Newfoundlands, this is the group for you!

We will be at Newstead Abbey this weekend to commemorate the 200th anniversary of Lord Byron's death. Of course our wonderful Newfoundlands will be there with us to meet & greet the public from 10am, they'll also be showing off their water rescue skills with a water demonstration at 2pm on Saturday & Sunday 🐾

We have now started our water training season and will be at Rother Valley Country Park Northern Lake every Sunday! If you're interested in working your Newfoundland dog then get in touch - we do have spaces available for new members. Spectators are also very welcome to come & watch the dogs train for water rescue 🌊🛟

Saturday 24th & Monday 26th August - NNC Water Tests Levels A - E

We are excited to announce that NEWF FEST will be returning for the 3rd year running at Rother Valley Country Park, Sheffield! We will be holding all of your favourites including introductions to working (water rescue, draught & scent work), fun have a go activities, a dog show, grooming seminar, low impact agility, stalls and there's much more to be announced. The event is a good opportunity to meet other Newfoundland owners and learn more about the breed, however as usual it's open to all breeds, we've had everything from Cocker Spaniels to Leonbergers! Every year it gets bigger and better. We will also be hosting certified water tests levels A - E.

On site camping will be available and further details including booking form will be posted next week ✨

RVWN have been invited to celebrate the life of Lord Byron & Boatswain at Newstead Abbey on 20th & 21st April. Today some of our members and their dogs attended a photoshoot with Lord Byron himself to promote the event. This year will mark the 200th bi-centenary anniversary of his death, and RVWN will be commemorating with a water rescue demonstration, cart rides for children, along with an opportunity to meet & greet Newfoundland dogs and learn about the history of the breed.

Sunday funday at RVWN 😁 all the dogs are doing brilliantly! We had a couple of new dogs on the haul today and they were naturals. Also great to see our new members with their dogs progressing well in obedience & control. Everyone working together and having fun, what it's all about!

Another great day of draught training at RVWN and the rain managed to stay away! We did some control and obedience work, followed by a short haul with lots of manoeuvres, a group down stay and out of sight. All of the dogs and handlers did well ⭐

We are draught training this Sunday starting 10:30am and meeting at Rother Valley Country Park. The weather is looking nice & sunny (and dry) so why not join us! New members are very welcome, if you're new to draught work then we do also practice obedience in a fenced in area and have a group walk in the afternoon. The RVWN Christmas meal was held on 2nd December and an enjoyable evening was had by all. It's been a very busy year for us with becoming an independent group, we've also had a full on schedule for the majority of the year holding & attending numerous working events and not forgetting Newf Fest, so it was a welcome break to celebrate together.
