Alsager Animals In Need Alsager Animals In Need is a small caring rescue service covering Alsager ST7 & surrounding areas.

Alsager Animals In Need offer shelter and veterinary care for sick, injured, stray and abandoned cats and will help with the re-homing of dogs. Should an animal coming into the care of the rescue be sick or very old, then a long term foster home is sought, also, short term foster care may be available if people have to go into hospital. Every effort is made to trace the owners of animals coming in

to our care, but failing this, once the animal is confirmed as healthy by the Veterinary Surgeon, the animal is vaccinated, micro-chipped and if necessary neutered. We endeavor to find a loving responsible home for the animal and all potential homes and owners are thoroughly vetted prior to re-homing taking place and an 'After-care' service is offered giving advice and support. Dogs that come into the care of the rescue are accommodated at a local boarding kennel, which is able to provide shelter and an exercise area for 5 dogs. The rescue is able to provide accommodation for 8 cats within 3 shelters, all of which have roomy pens and exercise areas. The main costs incurred are for kenneling at the boarding kennels, veterinary bills (always very high due to the poor state of health of some of the animals that come to the rescue), erecting and maintaining the cat shelters and pens at the foster homes, food, litter, advertising, hire of premises for events, running costs of the rescue vehicle etc. If you are able to help in any way, either by re-homing one of the current cats and dogs in the care of the rescue, becoming a foster carer, or by making a donation or pledge, or giving your time to assist at one of the fund raising events, please contact one of the telephone numbers below. However little your help, it will assist in the caring for these animals so much easier. Please contact Hilary Baxter - Animal co-ordinator 01270 875260

๐Ÿˆโ€โฌ›โ€ผ๏ธ***URGENT APPEAL FOR A TEMPORARY FOSTER HOME OR ADOPTIVE HOME FOR 3 YEAR OLD ZOYA***๐Ÿˆโ€โฌ›โ€ผ๏ธ

***โ€ผ๏ธWARNING GRAPHIC & UPSETTING CONTENTโ€ผ๏ธ***

We recently took in this beautiful 3 year old calico girl ZOYA . She was reported to us by concerned neighbours as she was crying excessively in the neighbourhood. She was an owned cat who had been rescued and shipped over from DUBAI after experiencing horrific abuse after being found with a rope tied tightly round her neck ๐Ÿ˜ญ you can only imagine the torture and abuse this poor girl endured. She received surgery in Dubai & nursed back to health and was lovingly adopted by the kind couple in the UK.

Sadly, after a recent house move, ZOYA hadn't settled properly and wasn't getting on with their other cat, and we all agreed she would be better in a 121 situation

We took her in, and she has been lovingly fostered by our wonderful fosterer LINDA, but sadly, Linda's situation isn't suiting her being bedroom fostered and left alone in the daytime. She needs to be fully in a house with human company most of the time. ( not possible at Linda's as she has other cats)

She needs a 121 foster home with a view to her being adopted once she has received all her vet care & treatment ( dental / vacs etc)

She is a very vocal cat, and her current situation is exacerbating her behaviour & anxiety.

Are you at home most of the time in a quiet 121 household, with a spare room to start her off in, to offer love in your heart, compassion, and understanding to this poor girl who has been through so much at the start of her life ? Must be experienced with cats, with compassion and commitment.

All costs vet / food etc covered by the rescue. You provide the TLC ๐Ÿพ

All serious enquiries please CALL Lisa 07970 194929 or Hilary 07939 255444 between 11 & 6.

Please share. Many thanks ๐Ÿ™โค๏ธ๐Ÿพ

***๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ’™UPDATE ON THE GINGER CAT WE TOOK IN THIS WEEK NAMED ARCHIE ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿพ***

ARCHIE is doing much better. His ritual circling behaviour he was exhibiting when we first bought him in has now stopped, but his back leg muscles are extremely weak. He is slowly being fed little and often to build up his strength with being so underweight. He is booked in to have his dental, neutering, and de matting in 2 weeks when his weight and strength are built up.

ARCHIEs microchip was not updated twice from the original owner when he was sold 3 years ago. He has since been passed on to a 3rd person, which owner No.2 does not know the details of. This highlights the importance of keeping your pets microchip details up to date.

We have now secured a fosterer at home all the time to closely monitor his recovery.

Thank you to everyone for your caring comments and kind words and your donations towards his vet costs and food to get him back to his former glory. His colour is cream, not ginger.

Lovely photo of him with Carl from Alsager VetsforPets yesterday on the left. The photo on the right is him 3 years ago !. What a difference. We can only surmise what this poor boy went through to get in such a state.

You are safe and loved now in our care, beautiful boy ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ™

***UPDATE ON THIS BEAUTIFUL BOY WE TOOK IN LAST NIGHT***

No owner has come forward as of yet.

He has had his bloods checked today, and thank goodness he is FIV negative. All other results are OK or in line with what he is currently having to deal with physically. He is now on antibiotics & pain releif for his burst abscess, which is still draining and for his teeth. He will need de matting due to all the awful matting of his coat under anaesthetic when he has his dental work. He's come out of himself a little today, but there are still concerns for his gait as he is unstable when walking, especially on his rear legs, this seems to be down to his muscle wastage on his back end. He will need gradually building up weight wise as he weighs only 3.8 kilos, and for a cat of his size, he should be around 5/6 kgs, so he's really underweight.

He will remain at the vets currently until he is stronger to have surgical treatment.

We are looking for a foster home for him urgently. Someone at home a lot of the time to monitor his recovery. Experienced with cats, must have transport and be close to our vets in Alsager for vet runs. Ideally, a 121 situation. He is currently an entire male.

All food / vet costs are covered by the rescue. You provide the TLC ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿพ

A big thank you to Carl & team at Alsager VetsforPets for their wonderful care and keeping him in temporarily until a foster place can be found this week.

All enquiries please call Lisa 07970 194929 or Hilary 07939 255444 between 11 & 6.

Please share. Many thanks ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ’™

This beautiful cat has been brought to our door tonight by a man with it in his arms, asking us to take in.

Found walking in circles near the main road by THE HEDGEROWS ( Pylon estate) ALSAGER ST7 AREA tonight 10/12/24. May have had a knock by a vehicle.

We have rushed him to the vets. He is microchipped, but the details are not up to date and registered with the previous owner who is out of this area.

If you are the owner or have any information, please call Lisa 07970 194929 or Hilary 07939 255444 URGENTLY.

Please share. Thank you x
