📣 Okay, so here's the big news 📣

As many of you are aware, I started beauty in the beast 8 years ago and covered the whole of greater Manchester, my little business took off fast and hard as a mobile in-house groomer as it wasn't something alot of groomers offered. I booked up very quickly and began getting to know all your beautiful families and dogs becoming one big family. We shared highs and lows together, celebrated victories, birthdays weddings, new family members and the heart aches of goodbyes, because as an in house groomer, that's what happens, it becomes personal. You joined me on my own journey of personal growth with my marriage and welcoming of 2 beautiful babies and supported me which I can never thank you all enough for that.
However I've had to make a big decision, the hardest and most heartbreaking one by far, whilst I love being in Manchester and love my business, I am very alone and have no local family to support me with my children when i need it.
I have done my best to try and tell as many of you in person but here is the news...

I need to continue my journey with my little family somewhere else now and I will be relocating to the west midlands to be closer to family and ready for river to start school.
I do not want to be leaving any of you as I adore you all, and as difficult as this will be, I need to put my family first.

I will be arranging for alternative groomers to take over from january so you will not be left without but a new adventure awaits for me and with a new adventure comes a new rebrand.

I will be re-launching my business again under a new name, house of pooch! You will start to see the branding of this page change over the new day or so.

What I would love an appreciate more than anything if everyone would be able to leave me a review on Google for my new website so the people of the Midlands can see I'm actually an alright and trustworthy person which will help me get started down there.

I hope you all understand the reason for this massive decision, I'm terrified but also excited. I will be grooming until Christmas and will be arranging alternative groomers in my place.

Thank you again all so much for letting me into your lives and trusting me with your pooches.i am going to miss every single one of you amd hope we stay in touch as life long friends ❤️

The grooming industry is feeling the loss of one of their own tonight. Louise Hunt was a fellow dog groomer and was killed alongside her mum and sister last night 😢

Our thoughts are with the rest of the family at this extremely sad time.
May you all rest in peace ###

A little bit more baby spam for you all before my Facebook will be taken back over by all your beautiful dog photos again.

Maple is 12 weeks now a whopping 13lb 11oz 🙈 she's also very long and in 3-6 clothing already, god know where she gets that from as we're all tiny.

It's been a very challenging 12 weeks as poor maple has CMPA (cows milk protein allergy)
Shes been on 7 different formulas, now on a dairy free prescription one, she's had to endure numerous medications in her short life already which has been hard to watch as it's all trial and error and a waiting game.
But we started the new formula 2 days ago, all medication free and so far so good so we shall see what happens.

8 weeks already! She's very long compared to river and growing out of her clothes so fast 🙈 she is sadly suffering with silent reflux and been referred to the infant feeding team and now trialing medication

Firstly thank you to everyone who has supported my business over the years. I know some people see dog grooming as an easy job or a hobby but to me this is my world and it is my only source of income to support My family

With that being said, im so, so sorry but in order for me to continue to offer my services to all of your wonderful dogs there will need to be a price increase across all services from the 1st sept 2024 of £5

With the increase in running costs, and in line with both 4.9% RPI inflation and 9.8% national living wage increase, a price increase is something a small business needs to do in order to continue trading.

Prices as always will vary depending upon your dog and Grooming schedules

As a sole trader, I not only needs to cover business costs but also earn a wage in order to live.

I have to cover travel and business costs as well as rent, utilities and childcare cost at home so please do not think the price you pay goes straight in to my pocket.

Unlike most businesses which increase their prices each year, my prices have remained the same for the last 3 years as I have done my best to absorb what costs I could in order to keep my prices lower, but with everything going up, I cannot afford to do this any longer and I fully appreciate we are all feeling the pinch

However, i completely understand if the price increase puts me out of your budget. After speaking with numerous groomers in the area I do believe my prices are similar to others but if you wish to ask around please feel free to do so. Please also bare in mind my prices are inclusive of travel and for a personal 1-2-1 service.

Please feel free to send me a message if you would like to know your dogs new price from the 1st sept or if you are going to struggle and want to change your schedules.

You're prices will all remain the same over the summer and will give some of you time to find a new groomer if you wish too, however I do hope I will still be your groomer of choice as I have gotten to know all of you and your dogs personally and increasing my prices is never something I want to do but unfortunately need to.

Afternoon everyone 😊
Is everyone doing okay? Thought I'd share some photos from our newborn shoot, she's like a little doll.

Just wanted to let people know about my maternity leave. Although i am throughly enjoying it now I'm no longer pregnant, me being me I'm already organising my diary.

I am planning to come back part time from June 3rd. Between June and July I will be working on Mondays and Wed's, I know I don't usually work Wednesday but it's the only days I can get help with childcare until September when I return as normal.

Is there anyone who can't do either Monday or weds? If you can't that's not a problem as TJ is still helping until September. But it just gives me an idea of who to book in and who to leave with her for now.

As for the 6 week holidays during August I will be predominantly working weekends and the odd few days during some of the weeks as my childminder is closed, so it's when I can get help. So if you are planning any holidays
please let me know the dates so myself and TJ can work around them for you 😊

Maple Fern Rutter. Born 15th February 2024 at 15.11pm, weighing 7lb.2oz 🥰

Shes a little doll and we can't wait for her big sister river to meet her and enjoy being a family of 4. We are complete 🩷🩷

Morning all!!

i know alot of you are eager to know if baby is here yet, she is not BUT she is coming this week!!! so keep your eyes peeled for her arrival :)

im hoping alot of you have settled nicely with TJ now, its lovely to hear how you are all doing from her, shes keeping me updated and ofcourse its nice to see all your messages and updates aswel.

one little thing from me that will be happening with the business whilst im off is im having to change my booking system as the one i currently use for all your appointments and reminders etc is stopping.
So i will be moving everyone to another booking system called fresha, some of you may already use this when you book other services as its a popular one.
you dont need to do anything in particular, i have all your details already and will manually input them all into my diary.

However the one slight difference i will need to do is ask everyone to provide me with your email address if possible, this is due to needing to send you all a booking terms and conditions form to be able to use my services, you will of all signed one with me when i first groomed your dog. But it has since all been updated and added to this system, you wont receIve any marketing spam or anything like that, it will just send you an email with a link to click that takes you directly to my form, you will have to sign up to fresha to access it.
for those who are not tech savvy, Don't worry when i see you again you can fill it out on my phone with me

Please feel free to text or fb message me your email address, no hurry as i have plenty of time to sort it all.

Afternoon you lovely lot! I thought I'd give you an update as TJ keeps getting ask if the baby is here yet 😂

No she isn't here yet! I still have 4 weeks to go, she is due mid February and as soon as she arrives I will let everyone know

Instead I am bored and on alot of bed rest as I'm not really able to walk and in alot of pain.

So feel free to throw any tv series suggestions my way to check out to keep me busy

And that's a wrap from me. The last of the pooches i could groom. I'm so sorry to those I wasn't able to make it too. These last 10 days have been so painful for me I'm just unable to do anymore. Thank you so much to everyone who was able to help, thank you all so much for all your kind words and gifts. I am officially heading onto maternity as this baby is coming in approx 7 weeks. Please keep in touch if you need me I am still at the end of the phone. Tj will ofcourse keep me upto date with all your pooches and I will be helping her with the diary.
I am back from June part time for a few weeks over summer and all of you will be back with me by September.

Hello everyone! So sorry I've been quiet on here this last month, I am still alive 😂 most of you have seen me this month. To those who haven't I hope you all had a fabulous Christmas and New year. I'm just absolutely rushed off my feet making sure I get everyone in before I jet off next week on my very long awaited overdue honeymoon... FINIALLY!! 🥳 I've been busy taking on lot of lovely new clients and sadly had to say goodbye to a some :( I am fully booked until the end of March and booking through to May at the moment so I will give you all your appointments on my next visit. River is doing amazing, she is being considered as potentially gifted with how clever she is. So here's a little video of her doing basic sums at 19 months old

Another baby/dog video, river loves to play with loki by giving him his toy but it's important to make sure loki is comfortable and out of his safe space and they are always supervised. Never ever leave a child unattended with a dog. Look how happy river is playing with her poodle pal, they are both learning together ❤️

I'm biased but if you want to see the most adorable thing today, here's river trying to sing twinkle twinkle 🥰🥰 I mean how can this not put a smile on your face

Babys and children around dogs can often be a recipe for disaster, so upsetting seeing all the negativity about dog attacks lately. Very important to teach both child and dog to be gentle, calm and respect each other. Although my 3 dogs are softies and very good with river, they are still animals at the end of the day and can be unpredictable, they need their own safe quiet space, they are never left alone with river and I'm teaching river to be gentle and when she can approach to stroke.

We have a little wobbly but now standing baby 🥰🙈

Beauty in the beast will come to you and turn your little beasts into beauties in the comfort of your own home. No van required I set up in your home so you can be with your fur-babies whilst I groom. Not every dog enjoys being groomed in a van or salon, This could be due to a number of reasons such as dog aggression, separation anxiety, old age and illness or lack of transportation. A lot of owners and dogs feel more at eased being groomed at home in their own environment. All i need access to is washing facilities so your pooch can be bathed and a plug socket for my equipment and i will take care of the rest.
