Hi Everyone,
We are really looking forward to the BTA TENTPEGGING training tomorrow.
It is going to be another hot day. As you can see from the picture attached there are trees around the outdoor school and we will utilise this shade, which is a blessing.
I have shared some articles from Dr David Marlin who specialises in thermoregulation in horses and other animals.
Please take your time to read them to protect your horses and know how to keep them cool for traveling and the recommended care for after exercise.

Bissell Wood update:
we've had suspected cases of Strangles at one of our yards here at Bissell Wood, this yard is not by the XC course.
The horses have been tested and we are waiting for results to come back from the vet.
As a precautionary measure we have closed down all of our yards, so no horses will move on or off site, and have also decided to close our XC for the next 2 weeks. We are following all BHS and vet guidance and have full security measures in place. No cases are confirmed, but we want to be proactive. Please message us if you've any questions.

🏆Pamela Whitman Robinson UKCC accredit coach - Pole work and showjumping
🏆Victoria Louse UKCC accredit coach - Cross country (to start in the arena)
The day will consist of Pole work Show Jumping and Cross-Country sessions – looking at jumping a course, approach and landing, angles, distances and lines.
Each session is approximately 90 minutes long.
plus one hour off horse activity.
Approximately 5 in a session each session will be set an appropriate level for those riders,
catering for:
✅novice 40cm – 50cm, ✅medium 60cm – 70cm, ✅advanced 70cm - 80cm
⏰ Group arrivals and departure times will be spaced throughout the day, first arrival being 9.30 last is 11.00.
🥙 lunchtimes will also be staggered into groups to allow small numbers at all times.
🥙 Lunch provided, menus available the week before
🐎 Horse accommodation - outdoor coral with individual spaces
💷 £80 per rider, including lunch

What a day! Thank you to everyone who joined us at the Fun Ride today and for your patience. It's days like this I'm so proud of the Bissell crew - thank you to all the wonderful marshalls, medic and vet (Georgia from Field Equine) and of course Vicky, Dan & John.
