Ruby had a husky tantrum at hydrotherapy, as she was made to walk 1mph on a slight incline (the audacity)!
After ensuring the whole room and everyone in it was soaked, she did some lovely walking and engaged the right muscles 💪

Had a lovely time helping this little one navigate the world through play! Walks are all about creating positive associations for puppies so we took a snuffle mat out with us to help engage her nose 🐾 by the end she was bringing it over for us to refill!

Ruby having a relaxing walk today. Sometimes she pulls slightly (she is usually on a long line on her harness) but never pulls enough for me to hold the lead properly so I’m classing it as loose lead walking 😂
She’s had lots of practice and reward history for walking loose lead and does check in with me a few times and then at the end when she hears ’biscuit’!
We are on the path where usually we meet lots of dogs so she isn’t sniffing as much as she does in the woods and park, as she’s keeping an eye out for potential new friends 🐾

🐾 STOCK PROOFING 🐾 What is it? Stock proofing is when your dog does not fixate on or chase livestock such as sheep or cows 🐑 🐄 Why is it important? Dogs chasing livestock can result in serious injuries or even fatalities for both livestock or dogs. It is also a legal requirement for a dog to be under control while around livestock, for example a lead no longer than 2m in length would be suitable, while a longline would not. It is also legal for farmers to shoot dogs found worrying livestock - is it worth the risk? Mia is a border collie, and her herding instinct is strong, so we put in a lot of work when she was younger to ensure she stayed neutral around livestock.
