🐾 STOCK PROOFING 🐾

What is it?
Stock proofing is when your dog does not fixate on or chase livestock such as sheep or cows 🐑 🐄

Why is it important?
Dogs chasing livestock can result in serious injuries or even fatalities for both livestock or dogs. It is also a legal requirement for a dog to be under control while around livestock, for example a lead no longer than 2m in length would be suitable, while a longline would not.
It is also legal for farmers to shoot dogs found worrying livestock - is it worth the risk?

Mia is a border collie, and her herding instinct is strong, so we put in a lot of work when she was younger to ensure she stayed neutral around livestock.

Polystyrene base from a freezer makes the perfect scentwork board! River indicates on catnip (kept in a tube as he does like to lick things)
Lots of fun was had this morning having a sniff around this board and garden.
Scentwork is really useful for busy dogs as it helps calm them down and really focus on a task 🐾 River is always on the go and runs at 100mph - apart from when we’re doing scentwork! He really slows down and engages with it, until he finds the scent and then it’s party time! 🥳

Solo dog walks ensuring your dog gets a walk tailored to them!

Pricing:
£15 per hour for solo dog walk
£5 for each additional dog from the same household
