I make no secret of the fact that I'm not a fan of ball throwing....especially with those awful ball chuckers. This graphic concisely explains roughly why.

In addition, I see so many dogs who become obsessive about the ball and the focus of their walk is that ball. That's not healthy.

It is much more instinctive and healthy (mentally and physicallly) for dogs to sniff, explore, forage rather than run manicly back and forth after a ball.

As from today, we are a tennis ball free zone!
Please do not bring them into the field, they get destroyed too easily and are a hazard to other dogs who try to eat them!

Remembering all service men and women and also the animals that too have worked to protect.

But also remembering those that are still serving, and those that are still with us that have served, and the effects that the service has had on their lives.

For some of us, close encounters can feel overwhelming.
When my human asks you to call your dog back, it’s not because they think your dog is naughty or unfriendly.
We just like different things, and they're just trying to help me feel safe.
So next time you see a dog wearing yellow, could you do one small thing for us?
Just give us a little extra room.
It would mean the world to us.

The lovely Dumsey Meadow, it almost looks like an island. It's not though, the B345 Chertsey Bridge Road runs behind it, connecting Chertsey with Shepperton. Field of Freedom is located in the very furthest top corner of the semi circle, where the river Thames meets land again in this photo. It's easy to see why it's a floodplain!

Dumsey Meadow is a Site of Special Scientific Interest in Surrey, England; the only piece of undeveloped water meadow unfenced by the river remaining on the River Thames below Caversham, (Oxfordshire now Berkshire) and is home to a variety of rare plants and insects.
There was formerly reference to "Dumsea Bushes", "Dumsea Corner" and "Dumsea Deep" at this point of the river, the bushes, which may have been a clump of willows, also going by the name of "Domesday Bushes".
