Lovely day treating dogs today.
Six lovely dogs for physio, and one handsome springer with a lump under his foot.
When dogs have pain in one area they adjust their posture to protect the sore area. This then causes additional strain on other parts of the body, which is particularly harmful if they already have some arthritis. Here I have adapted a dog boot by adding a gel pad inside the boot and securing it with an additional strap. Hopefully this will help Scooby to walk much more comfortably.
The first photo is of Gem, who came in for physio- well actually I think she came in for treats. Gem is a typical spaniel and is super active. Even her ears are in motion!
Love my job!

Rather like this and thought you may too

Dogs die. But dogs live, too.
Right up until they die, they live.
They live brave, beautiful lives.
They protect their families. And love us.
And make our lives a little brighter.
And they don't waste time
being afraid of tomorrow ..

Provision of splints / orthotics requires careful assessment, fitting and monitoring. Not all splints are suitable for all dogs.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.

Thought for the day…

When your dog is your soulmate, it feels like they’ve seen the depths of who you are and decided to love you anyway, flaws and all. There’s no pretense with them. They don’t care if you’ve had a bad day, if you’re broken, or if you’re lost. They just stay. Not because they have to, but because, for some reason, their soul fits with yours in a way that makes everything feel a little lighter.

It’s not about them reading your mind or sensing your moods like it’s some magical connection. It’s more raw than that. It’s in the moments where you feel like you’ve got nothing left to give, and yet, somehow, they bring out the part of you that still cares. It’s in their eyes, how they look at you like you’re the only thing that matters. There’s no pretending with them—no need to put up walls or hold back emotions. With them, you’re exactly who you are, and that’s enough.

And it’s more than just love—it’s the way they make you see yourself differently, the way they pull you out of places you didn’t even know you were stuck in. The bond is stronger than anything life throws at you because it’s rooted in something so simple and pure. They don’t just support you—they remind you, in the most basic, honest way, that you’re worth being loved. And when the world feels cold or distant, they’re the one soul you can count on, no matter what.

This may be of interest to some of you. Groomers have an important role to play in managing sensitive or physically compromised dogs

I can’t quite believe I am writing this, but I have some very exciting news.

I have been given the opportunity by The Holistic Grooming Academy to be an expert panellist on Love In Action! What Sensitive Dogs Really Need to Feel Safe and Loved.

Meeting the special needs of a sensitive dog can be a challenge even for experienced dog parents. Because their public behavior is often embarrassing, caring for a sensitive dog can feel isolating and lonely. Sensitive dogs can be unpredictable unless you’re prepared to use the right tools and strategies.

To prepare you with proven tools and a science-based plan, my colleague in the USA, Marilyn Mele has invited me to join a prestigious panel of experts from around the world for a live virtual event on Thursday 14th November.

I’ll be talking about how we can achieve reduced stress in the grooming environment, taking into consideration a dog’s emotional needs as well as physical.

It’s free to register for and if you can’t make it live then you’ll still get access to the replay.

Never in a million years did I think I’d be speaking to audiences in America, Australia and around the world. I’m so grateful to each and every one of you for the support you’ve given me.

⚠️ I’m sure lots of you are aware of the counterfeit Yumove tablets that have been identified in the last few days. These counterfeit tablets were bought from Amazon and not produced by Lintbells themselves.

This letter is from the CEO of Lintbells.

Please ensure that if you are buying medications online, they are from authorised sellers or veterinary wholesale partners 💊
