Interesting reading for Anaconda fans, over 5% difference genetically between Northern and Southern Green Anacondas. Humans are only 2% different to Chimps. A new subspecies will likely be named for the Northern Green Anaconda.

A new study has revealed that the green anaconda—the world’s heaviest snake—is actually two distinct species, more genetically diverse than humans and chimpanzees. https://on.natgeo.com/49M2yt4

A sad day for the hobby. Rest in peace Brian Barczyk ❤️

On behalf of the Barczyk family and our entire team at The Reptarium, it is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved Brian Barczyk.

More than the guiding light of our organization, Brian's fervent passion for reptiles and wildlife, along with his steadfast dedication to education, has touched innumerable hearts and minds globally.

Our deepest sympathies are with Brian's family, his friends, and all those whose lives he has touched. We've lost an exceptional individual – a visionary, mentor, and friend. For those of us who had the privilege of working alongside him, Brian's absence leaves an immeasurable void.
As we navigate this difficult time, we find comfort in the memories and the lasting light of Brian's work. He will be deeply missed but indeed, never forgotten.

The Barczyk family invites you to join us for a Public Memorial Walk-through to honor Brian’s memory. The event will be held on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, at Heritage Church, located at 44625 Schoenherr Rd. Sterling Heights, MI 48313 from 1-3pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family encourages you to show your support by visiting https://thereptarium.com/pages/brianbarczyk . Your engagement and involvement are greatly valued during this time.

Also, at LegaSea's opening, visitors will find Brian's handprints. Guests place their hands in his, continuing his legacy in a simple, yet powerful gesture. Please continue to follow this page for updates.

Brian, we will see you in the next one. Everyone else, see you at LegaSea.

- The Reptarium Team.

The Dwarf Panama Bromeliad Boa is quite a rare species of dwarf boa rarely observed in the wild with fewer still in captivity. There are very few captive breeding successes but I have seen a few more being advertised in recent years. In the wild they have been observed predating on bats, birds and geckos. They frequent bromeliads and banana trees, hence their name. These little boas grow only to around 50cm.

We don’t often discuss our sea snake friends. The Banded Sea Krait (Laticauda colubrina) is one of the more commonly seen, mostly because it regularly frequents land to shed its skin or lay eggs. Beautiful 😍

Shared this back in 2013, though never actually seen one in the flesh. Hypermelanistic carpet python. Anyone seen one in the flesh or know what happened to this one?

I've just heard about the new Hypermelanistic morph Carpet Python - named the "Panther", this super cool morph was bred by a breeder in the Czech Republic. Check out their website here:

The False Coral Snake (Anilius scytale) is non-venomous and feeds primarily on other reptiles and amphibians. Interestingly it also predates on beetles and caecilians, a rather varied diet for this little South American snake.

At WhitePython, we create innovative & modern reptile products that exceed the needs of our customers with function and quality.

Hi, I’m Chris Jones, founder of WhitePython.

As an avid reptile keeper since an early teen I’ve always strived to develop and learn, keeping and breeding new species and finding new ways to encourage natural behaviour whilst at the same time, providing aesthetically pleasing terrariums for my home.

Whilst I had worked with reptiles in my early career, my life took me in a different direction where I learned a great deal in sales, marketing, brand and product creation. It was in early 2012 when I finally felt I’d put my new skills to test with an industry I’m most passionate about - Reptiles.

I decided that under no circumstances, WhitePython would bring “copy-cat” products to market. It’s so easy to do that, but the real fun is to develop new, innovative products which offer a new concept to both reptile and keeper alike.
