WOW! Thank you so much to everyone who has donated to our appeal for Maggie Mae's field shelter. You are amazing. We have achieved 60% of our target and we are so grateful.

Poor Maggie Mae urgently needed a field shelter to protect her from this awful weather. With the pouring rain and winter around the corner we had to act and with the recent weather thank goodness we did!

Can you help us?
Poor Maggie Mae urgently needed a field shelter to protect her from this awful weather. With the pouring rain and winter around the corner we had to act!

We had no luck appealing for a second hand one, we had no choice but to buy one and they are NOT CHEAP even with a discount.

The ABC Animal Sanctuary receives no funding, and we are reliant on the generosity of our supporters, our own fundraising events and those of the public and our wonderful volunteers.

The cost of rescuing, feeding, vets bills, and caring for our animals amounts to approximately £10,000 per month. Unfortunately, with the rising cost of living, our donations have been decreasing while our expenses continue to rise.

Today more than ever, we need your help!

We are so grateful to Henry Adams Sales & Lettings who have been fundraising and supporting us throughout the year. This is another way they have been raising money for the animals in our care.

Hugh congratulations to our very own 'Fab Four' who put their best foot forward on Sunday 6th October and completed a 10 mile charity walk around Horsham!

We are raising funds for our 2024 charity partner, the wonderful ABC Animal Sanctuary in West Chiltington who do an AMAZING job with the animals there, providing them with all the care and protection they need and finding them a new forever home where possible. We have the most amazing supporters and none more so than
Jack, Wilf and William! (pictured below at our recent open weekend).

They took on the challenge of playing 150 hours of tennis over the summer holidays to raise money for the Sanctuary with the aim of raising £1000.

Well, the boys absolutely smashed their target and have raised a whopping £1,461.

We can not thank them enough and really appreciate all the effort they went to raising the funds for the animals.

THANK YOU JACK, WILF AND WILLIAM FROM EVERYONE AT THE ABC ANIMAL SANCTUARY. 👏👏👏👏

HUTCH: We thought you might like an update on Hutch as many of you have been asking how he is coping since the sad passing of his brother Starsky. Of course, this has been a very difficult time for Hutch. He had to stay in the equine hospital for a couple of days after his brother had passed away. This is standard practice to make sure that he wasn’t too distressed as this can cause digestive system problems in donkeys. The hospital also made sure he was eating and drinking properly before he could come back to the sanctuary. As you can see from the video, on his return Hutch was immediately paired up with his other donkey field companion Chocolate. They were very pleased to see each other again. Hutch is also now back out in his field with his Shetland pony pals Eddie, Raffles, Jack and Jill. His other donkey friend Louise is in the next field, and he had a “chat” over the fence with her immediately. Whilst he is a little quieter than normal, he is eating normally and getting lots of fuss from the volunteers. He is settling back into life at the sanctuary, and we are keeping a close eye on him. It will take a little while for him to adjust to his new life without his brother but with the love of all the volunteers and his equine friends we are sure he will be OK. Unfortunately, this is the very sad side to looking after animals, especially the older ones or those with medical issues. However, we will continue to provide them with all the care and protection they need at the ABC Animal Sanctuary. We've launched a Just Giving campaign to help with costs of Starsky’s vet bill which totals appx £5,500 and if you can help us in any way, however small we would be extremely grateful.
