Here we are again. We are working hard to stop this happening again but in the meantime...please help this family get her horse back...could you imagine it if it was yours? If you live in the area covered by west Mercia Police or West Midlands police it could be! PLEASE SHARE and donate...every tiny bit helps. I know things are tight because its Christmas...but this is what Christmas is about...
The term bailiff is misleading...this horse had been let out of its field maliciously. The woman does not owe anything...she is the victim here. her horse could be sold on by Thursday if we can't raise the cash.

Trena is absolutely gutted. Her horse has been taken by the horse bailiff and she now has until Thursday to raise the £460 to get him back. Let's show our support once again as we did before for Samantha Latham and get this horse home to where he belongs! as we are not setting up a new account so...

There are times when I am really glad of the hours spent putting the relationship first with my horses. Tonight was one of them....one of the gate posts had come down and Fly had got caught in the fencing...dragging all the posts and fence line out in his panic (no injuries thank goodness) Three of the horses got out into a big neighboring field leaving little Bonny alone in ours. However...Star then began to panic in the darkness, separated from Bonny. She was galloping around back and forth and ended up a bank between a chicken run and some haylage bales...where there is a lot of rubbish and stuff lying around. It was muddy and dark and she was stressed but she stood whilst I climbed up to join her and came down at my pace, every muscle quivering and her breathing coming fast as she called out to Bonny but listening to my every word and touch on the rope.Feeling very grateful for all the people who mentored me through the years and helped me find a way of being with my horses that means they trust me.

Some people call the work Equine assisted therapy. Today I realised anew why I call it Equine FACILITATED therapy. It was a day for being in the barn; strong winds and pouring rain. So I had Bonny Lass out in the centre aisle and my child client was grooming her. As we groomed we were chatting about his week some of the time, at other times enjoying a companianable silence. The other three horses munched their hay. Star was giving the appearance of being asleep. As we chatted, the child mentioned a situation and how he had been upset because some things were scary. I started to gently ask him questions only to be interupted by Star kicking her door violently. When I looked at her she snaked her head at me and I clearly felt the message to back off. I listened and the subject was naturally dropped. The foster carer told me later that he was so glad of Star's interuption, that something had been disclosed that week that would have made it very difficult for the child if I had asked those questions at that time. How blessed am I that the horses are so attuned to the needs of the people who come into their barn and to my lead mare who is willing to tell this human to back off when needed!

I am blown away by my horses's ability to work with emotions. I was working with a little girl today who is highly traumatised. On the outside she looks fine...but Fly was getting faster and faster and unable to stop on the end of the rope. She had gone into a freeze response and could not even let go of the rope. I stopped Fly and worked with her for a few minutes to get her back in her body. Fly stood about two meters away watching us. She eventually came back and looked confused and started to cry. The very second she came back into the moment...he shot forward and began to nuzzle and comfort her. This child who finds touch so hard threw her arms round his neck and sobbed...Fly put his head down her back, pulling her in so that they were in a close contact hug. When she had cried herself out he gently licked her hands and nuzzled her until she was calm. Foster carer was crying. This pony is coming into his own. I am so grateful to be doing this work and have four such wonderful co-therapists.

Really...when you start to explore what it is you do and why...it all makes sense. Connection with horses (and I mean connection not control or just sitting on them making them do what you want) is often the way a person finds their place in the animal kingdom....and realises that we are all part of creation, all part of nature. They can start to ENGAGE with nature. As humans living in this technology and consumer driven age, we are cut off from our own sense of belonging, our own sense of being one with all that is around us, our own need of this wonderful planet. So we use it. Destroy it. Connecting with a horse can be the first step back to connection. We need to make sure that places like Nedge farm Riding Centre survive so that ordinary people have a chance to begin that healing journey back to connection, If you have not already done so, please sign our petition and help us keep The Nedge open and the surrounding area green and free for all to enjoy.

Save this business, its jobs, and the amenity for the people of Telford, the environment, the wildlife, and the last stretch of natural countryside on the east of Telford. The Nedge Farm Riding School is situated just to the east of the A442 Eastern Primary. It is accessed from Naird Lane, Telford.…
