11am - 1pm - own your own pony session. Learn what it’s like to own your own pony. Includes pulling in and out from the field, grooming, tacking and untacking, go out for a ride and feeding.

Braw Lads’ Day - Scott Street Etiquette 🏁

RIDERS
Please take care and listen to marshals. Advice is to trot along the flat section of Scott Street, slow canter up Scott Street hill and back to a walk at Gala Park.
It's not a race, enjoy the atmosphere!

SPECTATORS
Please keep off the road until the mountain rescue vehicle goes up as this will signal the end of the procession!

We will be at Kingsland primary school summer fair with some of our furry four legged friends doing pony rides. Pop along and say hello.

Friday 7th, Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th June the yard will be closed to customers so we can have some well earned time to relax before we are full swing into the busy summer common ridings season.

As the weather is getting nicer and people are out and about more on walks.
Could i please remind and ask you not to feed horses that do not belong to you.
Even pulled grass, grass cuttings are dangerous to horses and can cause choking.
Some horses may have health conditions, which are not viable to most people.
Horses will fight to get to a carrot so this can cause injury and even death if the horse is kicked in the wrong place.

☀️☀️What a busy weekend ☀️☀️

Saturday we had a lovely day at Priorsford Primary School summer fair with Rhu, Fizz, Pod and Ziggy doing pony rides. The sun was shining and there were alot of smiling faces from all the children who came for a ride.
Followed by a nice evening 2hr hack.

Today Sunday was the May ride. Louise and Chloe had a great ride on Jack and Purdie shame the ☔️ started but smiles all round.
Happy customers at home at the stables too on our 1hr walk, trot hack and lead rein rides.

‼️Common riding season has now officially started with the announcement of all this years principles and the first ride completed down at Berwick Bounds yesterday.
We cannot stress enough how important it is to make sure you are riding fit. If you have already booked or are planning on booking from us for this years common ridings please can you get yourselves booked in for hacks. We are now doing night time hacks throughout the week to accommodate everyone‼️

🔴This ride a walk only ride and is aimed at novice riders on or off lead rein, aged 18 and under.

Depart Storezone 17.30. Eastfield Drive -> Eskmill Road -> Old Railway Line -> Valleyfield Road (Approx 18.00) -> Bridge Street -> High Street -> Kirkhill Road -> Eastfield Drive -> Storezone. Returning approx 18.20.

⛔️Safety⛔️
▪️️All riders must be accompanied by a responsible adult walking alongside. Lead rein is not maditory but must be available and to hand at all times if required.
▪️Maximum 2 handlers per pony.
▪️Riders must wear riding hats, complying with most recent safety standards.
▪️Horse/riders should have independent public liability insurance.
▪️No dogs / prams / pushchairs permitted.
▪️All handlers must wear sensible footwear, and be fit enough to keep up.

Due to people booking in for riding and not turning up we are now taking a £10 booking deposit for 30 minute sessions and £20 booking deposits for an hour + sessions. We have 7 horses in brushed and tacked up and 5 people haven’t turned up we waited 20 minutes which has made the ride late which has a knock on effect for the next ride going out. This is absolutely NOT acceptable as we work very hard and it’s also not fare on the horses being pulled in for nothing 😡😡😡😡
