e inspired by our outdoor pursuits– backpacking, skiing, mountain biking – it's natural for us to utilise fabrics, hardware, materials and construction processes that have been proven in the environment we live for and play in. Our dogs (as well as inspired individuals, just like you, with "professional" canine testers) put our products through the paces, providing valuable feedback that motivates and drives Ruffwear's continuous product development. At the end of the day, we believe it is the amazing connection with our dogs, and their ability to motivate us to get out and explore, that makes all the hard work worth the effort. They improve our health, our lives, and our outlook… and ask for little in return. Combine a dog's appetite for exploration with the right equipment and you'll be prepared for yet another grand adventure. Have fun out there!

Introducing the BackTrak Evacuation Kit.
Sometimes getting out there with our dogs means really getting out there. And part of exploring the outdoors responsibly is being prepared to answer “what would I do?” in an emergency.
This was the spark that led to the BackTrak Evac Kit, designed to aid you in carrying out your dog if an injury leaves your dog unable to get back to the car under their own power.
The kit includes a first-aid dog muzzle and a human vest with a built-in emergency dog carrying sling so you can be prepared for the unexpected and confidently venture out with your dog.

Every backpacker needs a plan - your pup included. We asked Ruffwear ambassador to share the kit she packs for a day hike:
For the dogs:
- Front Range Day Packs - useful for a couple of snacks & bowls, or an extra layer spending on the time of year!
- Packable bowls - great for food or water
- Protein bars -
- Dog hydration carton -
- Boots - to protect against rocky terrain or in case of minor injuries
- Treat pouch - for some snacking along the way!
