We will also be focusing far more on practical application of skills every other session in support of growth of confidence and ground skills.
Hoof Club is the most cost effective way to ride and learn with us! Get in touch if you want to join our riding club! [email protected]
Today our Hoof Club member have been having a dressge competition, each rider will take home a rosette and score sheet to look at where they can improve!

Water Splash & Log Jumping competition for June!!!
What’s involved? Riders will ride through our water complex and complete a course of 6 -12 cross country logs out in our stunning cross-country course.
Do I get a rosette? All riders who “Clear” will receive a Clear Round rosette.
How do I book? Book your normal private lesson ( you need to wear a body protector please; you can hire these) leave us a note in your booking to show you want to take part in this event.
I am on lead rein – can I compete? Yes! ANY riders who are not independent or experienced will remain on lead rein and take the course in walk. Experienced jumpers will be off lead and will need skull cap as well as body protector.
This is a great fun challenge, giving you a chance to widen your riding experience with us regardless of your level of riding, and compete without owning a horse.
Pushy, bargy horse?
Difficult to mount?
Turns his back on you in the stable?
Difficult to tack up/rug/handle?
Turning out or fetching in is like flying a kite?
Has your horse no respect for you at times?
Get some support by working with Vuyo Pike.
He is our go to man to support horses on the yard here. We are now offering support to our livery clients to help them develop their knowledge, and skill to stay on top of horses when they overstep the mark.
You will be able to book a 2 part private clinic with Vuyo, he will work with your horse in session 1, to help your horse understand what is being asked of him. Session 2 will see him support owners to manage this behaviour ongoing. Get in touch with the office to book your 2 session clinic.
Who is Vuyo? He trained and passed his apprenticeship with us, he supports
equine care and welfare daily. He also helps us develop young horses in and out of the saddle. His calm approach, logical mind, and depth of equine knowledge yield fantastic results. What a great skill to have in the core Rein and Shine team.

A milestone has been reached just now! Our baby clydesdale Sir Tom, was backed a year ago. Then left to mature, but with regular long lining, and a couple of ridden walks over the last 11 months. Today Sir Tom returns to riding now he is 4 years old - and had his First trot! Woo hoo! The only difference is 12 months ago he was 16h, .... now he is 17h1!
Well done to our riders who attended the sell out jump clinic held yesterday. "Course Riding" supported riders through developing stronger partnerships with their horses, understanding importance of rhythm and fluidity, and having the ability to alter and change their courses based on confidence levels and for the horse's way of going.
Happy birthday Guinness! A treasured, handsome and talented member of our team. He stole our hearts a long time ago. He has had a great Pamper Day.... and birthday 🎂 treats. He is a really special chap - thanks to the super human team who gave him a lovely extra special day ######
Highlights from the Arena Eventing clinic held yesterday. Coach demo followed by riders and horses working through the fences, growing confidence, and creating better partnerships. Well done to those who got in fast to this sell out clinic.
Well done ponies for moving yourselves to your new field!
Lovely pot hole free drive is complete!

Bringing our show jumping paddock back to life now flood water has gone.
Want to own a horse? concerned your not ready?.....Bridge the gap between riding lessons and loaning/owning a horse.
Supervised horse share helps riders to take responsibility for horses, expanding both ridden and ground knowledge. The coach is always present whilst riders groom, foot pick, tack up, ride, feed, skip out and put horses to bed. Riders are encouraged to become fully independent, and have support until they are. During the ridden part we focus on meaningful warm ups, how to recognise issues and put in place corrections to support a horse's way of going, so that exercise is beneficial and effective. Get in touch if this sounds like something you are looking for, we have adult and teen supervised share evenings every month, where you can attend once or twice per month - sessions last 2.5 hrs.

Do you loan your horse to Rein and Shine? We are back on the grass following a winter on hard turnout paddocks. Look at how happy they are! Our large winter hard turnout paddocks prevent our working horses from the negative impact of deep clay on tendons, joints, and ligaments. It also ensures our ponies are outside with pals for 15 hours per day even in the wettest times of year! They are a saviour to nasty winters! ...But there is nothing like seeing the return to grass!
Massive thanks to all involved in bringing our "Jump Coaching Development " CPD course to life this weekend with Johanna McDonald . The course was for coaches to develop their eye and skill for coaching riders in jumping. We had beginner jumpers through to affiliated levels. Highlights are below - British Horse Society feedback links have been emailed to all coaches who attended - and can claim their CPD. Once again thanks to all involved. Johanna McDonald is very passionate about welfare centred coaching - it was a fantastic day of progression to both riders and coaches, a lot of work went into making this event possible.😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀
