Reward-based methods only. Hoopers is suitable for all ages and any breed can participate. Lessons are all taught by Nicola who is a Canine Hoopers World Level 2 instructor and assessor.

Both my own dogs went to get a check over at the physio today. They both got the all clear which is great news. It's so important to keep our dogs in the best health when we are asking them to do physical activities with us.

What an amazing day for Flawless Paws at Javawolf hoopers show today. Well done to everyone, a clear round for each of us there today, some with more than one!

This week in lessons we all had a go at working our way around the Crufts demo course (adapted to fit in the field as the Crufts arena is huge).

Some partnerships did 2 or 3 obstacles and worked round the course in sections, others managed to get round the beginner or advanced course.

Only got videos of a few dogs, but well done to everyone for giving it a try and doing so well.

Who saw the amazing hoopers display at Crufts at the weekend? If not take a look at the video below. It starts by showing how we teach the foundation skills and then goes onto a competition.

It really demonstrated what a brilliant activity hoopers is for dogs and handlers. The diversity of breeds and ages of dogs, along with the variety of handler ages and handling styles (running or distance handling).

Christmas hoopers workshop with the wonderful Becci Bowman. Becci is an experienced hoopers judge and UK Hoopers Platinum Instructor.

Workshops will be on 31st December, £30 per dog, small groups, for beginners and experienced dogs. Held outside, in a secure field, just outside St Albans Hertfordshire, 3 minutes away from j9 of the M1.

Hoopers lessons available in Redbourn, Hertfordshire, throughout winter. Hoopers is a fun activity for both dog and handler, where you guide your dog around a course of obstacles.

As you'll see in the video, it can be fast and furious or taken at the dogs' own pace. You can run with your dog, or learn to distance handle and stick to just a walking pace. Suitable for all breeds, big and small!

Very late in posting this, but well done to Cali for doing amazing at her last show. Not only doing it for the really small dogs but also showing hoopers really is inclusive for all breeds.

Our Story

Flawless Paws is a fully trained and insured, welfare focused, mobile dog grooming service for small and medium dogs in the St Albans, Harpenden, Hemel Hempstead, Markyate, Redbourn, Flamstead and Wheathampstead areas.

All grooms take place in the brand new mobile salon right on your door step. As the appointment is at your home or workplace, there's no more time taken up struggling to get your dog into the car, driving, or trying to get parked near a salon. This means less stress for both yourself and your dog.

Grooms are completed on a one to one basis using only natural products and force free handling techniques. This means that your dog always has a choice, and will never been made to do anything they don’t feel comfortable with. Using only positive reinforcement, by praise and treats, your dog will be as stress-free and happy as possible during their grooming experience. Nicola takes pride in her work and level of care, spending extra time with young, nervous, elderly or rescue dogs which helps them to enjoy their groom. It is key to maintain a consistent grooming schedule that remains positive throughout your dog's life. The health and welfare of your dog is always the number one priority.

Each groom is carried out on a one to one basis by Nicola who is trained to a high standard, having passed her City and Guilds Level 3 Introductory in Dog Grooming with the highest grades.
