Our Story

Here at Gencon we have one simple aim – to enhance the pleasure that dog owners can derive from their pets. My wife and I have always been dog lovers and the idea of working with like minded people who share our passion was irresistible.

The Gencon® All-in-1 and Headcollars were designed, developed and patented by a lady called Irene Holbrook, who is probably the most knowledgeable dog enthusiast we have ever known.

Irene has long been an expert in dog agility and obedience and it was her passion for these disciplines, and her wish to help people gain the most enjoyment from their dogs, that led her to the development of the original Gencon products.

After a great deal of research into dog psychology and development work on innovative technologies and high quality materials, the Gencon range was born. The quality and effectiveness of the products is so unique that they have been granted a UK Patent.
