It’s been a busy month, meeting some lovely new dogs that have completed their initial 3 clinical canine massage sessions. Really pleased to see their progress not only with their improved mobility but also their confidence levels.
I’ve also just completed a static and dynamic stretch course with the International Association of Animal Therapists. Really interesting to see how this compliments massage therapy and the results that can be seen within a few weeks. Helping to maintain muscle function, improve flexibility, posture, reducing joint stress and improving range of motion. A big thank you to Fleur and Betty who were both brilliant case studies! ❤️

An amazing turnout at Dogfest last weekend myself and fellow Canine Guild members had a brilliant time. We were in our element with such a variety of breeds and meeting caring owners, it was nonstop from the minute it opened.

It was lovely to see the number of owners that were interested in how canine massage can improve mobility and help alleviate pain in our more senior dogs and dogs with underlying orthopaedic conditions. However, what really made my day was seeing the number of owners with younger dog’s keen to understand how massage can aid in early intervention to help them live their best life by maintaining flexibility and mobility.

The past few weeks have been busy, with Edition Dog Live 2024 being a highlight, it was an amazing weekend of working alongside a brilliant team of fellow Canine Massage Guild members.
From the moment we opened, it was non-stop action, and we enjoyed every bit of it! We provided muscular assessments and offered advice to owners on maintaining and enhancing their dog's musculoskeletal health.
It was lovely to see the keen interest in Clinical Canine Massage and its significant role in managing chronic pain, orthopaedic conditions, and how early intervention is key in preserving mobility and wellbeing 🐕‍🦺❤️
Natalie Lenton, the founder of the Canine Massage Therapy Centre and Canine Massage Guild, delivered an engaging talk in the main arena. Natalie advised owners on performing a hands-off assessment of their dog, providing them with valuable insights including how the subtle changes in gait, posture and behaviour may indicate a dog is experiencing discomfort.
We will be at Knebworth DogFest on the 21st and 22nd of September, so please come and visit us. There will be a team of Canine Massage Guild members on hand to conduct muscular health assessments. Even if you can't bring your dog, we're available to discuss any concerns you might have.

I’m excited to hear that Powered by Naughty Paws is set to open a shop locally 🎉 Jo's lovely dog Emile has been a client of mine, and Jo provided invaluable advice when I contemplated switching my dog Betty to a raw food diet. Betty had been struggling with gastrointestinal issues for a while and following a severe episode and the removal of a mast cell tumour, we began reassessing her diet and nutrition. Since we transitioned her to a raw diet and natural treats, Betty has thrived. Her gastrointestinal issues have thankfully ceased, and her coat and overall health have improved significantly.
In my interactions with clients and while conducting muscular health checks at events, we cover all aspects of a dog's life that affect their musculoskeletal health, with nutrition being a key component. Focusing on and sustaining a natural and nutritious diet is a wise investment that not only enhances musculoskeletal health and general well-being, but can also significantly benefit dogs with allergies and inflammatory conditions.
Powered by Naughty Paws have done the research as it can be very confusing when you first start looking into nutrition for your dog.
Follow their page for updates on opening dates and the latest nutritional information!

Muscles pull on bones to create movement, and when arthritis is present, the joint has to recruit extra support of muscles which leads to your dog offloading, overcompensating on other limbs, primary as well as secondary areas of muscular and myofascial pain, and habitual patterns of tension throughout the whole body

So it's not just the joint thats affected.
It's your dog's whole body.
We can help.

A big thank you to Therapeutic Hooves and Amy's Tails of Dog Training who did an incredible job of maintaining Hoovesfest despite the weather. I was there offering free Muscular Health Checks and had the opportunity to meet some lovely dogs and their owners.
It was great to hear how many people were aware of the benefits of Clinical Canine Massage and the positive impact early intervention can have when supporting underlying orthopaedic conditions and soft tissue rehabilitation.

Gorgeous Scooby enjoying his treatment this morning he really let himself relax and made the most out of it! ❤️
Scooby is 12 years old and has been gradually showing signs of stiffness and less active on his walks. Maintenance Clinical Canine Massage treatments are crucial in easing muscle tension around his joints that reduce mobility and cause discomfort.
These sessions are particularly good for dogs with underlying orthopaedic and neurological conditions including arthritis, hip/elbow dysplasia, luxating patella and spondylosis.
Regular musculoskeletal maintenance improves mobility and performance while addressing compensatory loading to prevent additional stress on joints and associated soft tissue, helping to reduce the risk of injury and joint degeneration.
