So...my histology came back on my lumps.

They were carcinomas but, although they grey quickly were not overly aggressive, they were low level.

The amazing vets at Blenhiem Vets had cut them out with quite a bit of normal tissue around them. This means that there are no pieces of them floating around in my body.

There is a risk they could return in any remaining breast tissue and I need regular checking for lumps but the danger is not as high as it could be. longer

Unfortunately most of the floorboards and at least half the joists in the lounge need replacing so we will be a little cramped if it rains today. I am not allowed upstairs in case my stitches rip so Nesta and I are in the hall or the garden. Pollie has already moved out to Beck Alcock so she doesn't feel left out. We still have 1 puppy ready to go to a forever home and 1 being trained here as well as 1 here for a holiday and Millie is staying for good with us.

I hope we can all go for a walk in the next week. These stitches are so itchy! But the cool mats help!

Feeling better today! So resilient! X

We have had a restless night. Lola has been in different positions. She has had an ice pack on her neck for much of the night to cool her down.

This isn't the best weather to wear a bodysuit. It is on to prevent any knocks and to form a layer around her so she can sleep in any position.

We are actually very lucky she survived the op as it was invasive and there was a chain of masses.

Kitkat washed her head and massaged her back much of the night which did help her sleep but she is in pain.

We are not really up for visitors yet.

Lola is home and spaced out on pain killers.... She had a 4inch strip taken out of the length of her body so we have to take it easy. There were lots of smaller lumps too. It was a 5 hour operation!!!
She should heal slowly and can't go for a walk for at least a week.

The vet just called me. Lola is doing well. They found an extra lump but will tell me more when I get there about half 5 x It was a long operation (5 hours) but Lola is trying to stand up. They were going to feed her after they got off the phone ###

Today I went out with 1 of my favourite places, Stafford Park with 2 of my favourite people (Nesta & Roland).

I had bacon, a puppacinno and a dog ice cream. I then played with my favourite thing (a ball).

A few people have asked what the op is for.
Lola has lumps on her mammary glands. A few weeks ago there was what seemed to be a gristle lump. Now it is 3. The first one has grown and the other 2 appeared early last week.
We won't know if it is malignant or benign until they are taken out and tested.
It is costing just over £1700 but Lola is worth it.
In every million dogs there is one who is special, who can communicate, who empathises and genuinely cares, who is almost human.
Lola is that one in her million.

An update on Lola.
She is booked in with Blenheim Vets in Ashbourne for her op on Tuesday 13th June.
Please keep your fingers crossed and send her your love.
She is really healthy otherwise so will hopefully pull through quite quickly 🤞

25/05/2023

We need everyone's healing thoughts this week. Lola has 2 tumours and we are hoping they can be operated on. She is otherwise very healthy for her age.

17/03/2022

I had a lovely birthday. I am 9 today!

30/11/2021

What a difference a few weeks makes. The trapped nerves have gone and Lola is playing in the snow with Pollie

08/11/2021

Just to let you all know.
Lola is doing fine. She is on metacam and paracetamol. Half a Paracetamol tablet twice a day is fine for dogs her size (I never knew that). She can walk fine. She doesn't like going down steps. Trapped nerves make sense as the vet felt all over and her joints flexed well without pain. Fingers crossed she will continue to get better.

05/11/2021

Spare a thought for Lola. She is not very well. It seems like she has pulled a muscle or trapped nerves in her back

My Story

I am a happy, enthusiastic labradoodle who loves playing with people who find it difficult to fit in for various reasons.
