In England, from 10th June 2024 it will be compulsory to have your cat microchipped. Microchipping cats will help to reunite thousands of lost or stray pets every year. Owners not found to have microchipped their cat will have 21 days to have one implanted, or may face a fine. Many of our clients choose to microchip their cats when they are being neutered, as they are already under anaesthetic.Jasper was castrated in practice, and had his microchip placed at the same time. As Jasper is also on our Healthy Pet Club, his microchip placement was completely free! Happy exploring Jasper!
Lola had her last chemotherapy session for this week for her lymphoma. She is now in remission, well done Lola! 🩷 #veterinarian #veterinarymedicine #veterinary #vetnurselife #bulldog

Ode to veterinary professionals - CVS
On Wednesday, Lola the 8 month old west highland terrier got into some trouble when she climbed onto the kitchen counter at home and chewed a pair of scissors. Unfortunately, the scissors got stuck around Lola’s lower jaw behind her canine teeth!
Luckily, Lola was quickly brought to the hospital and the team were able to remove the scissors once Lola was under sedation with some dental equipment.
Lola went home later that day, with no further treatment required. Lucky Lola!
Thankyou to Lola’s owner who gave permission for this post.
Working together on the safe disposal of your pets’ unused antibiotics
Did you know that antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is a world-wide health threat, as bacteria are becoming resistant to many antibiotics that we use in human and veterinary medicine?

Feeding our baby Gull
This little baby Gull was brought into our hospital last night after falling from its nest on top of a roof, luckily it does not have any injuries and this is very common this time of year.
If you find a baby Gull on the floor, try and locate it’s nest and return it or as near as possible up high away from predators. Do not try and feed it, It’s parents will find it and continue to feed it. Parents will tend to feed their young about 5-6 times a day between 4am- 10pm. Parents will tend to avoid feeding at the hottest time of the day 🐥
