I've had my breakfast, and been on a lovely walkies. For the rest of the day I'm doing absolutely nothing 😂.

This time last week my world was in turmoil as my gorgeous Rolo was admitted to the vets. I was told several times, he was so poorly, that he may not make it. Leaving him at the vets was agony, but I knew he was in the best place. He had been violently sick, to a degree that I've never seen with any of my dogs before. Suspecting something connected with his walks, Alabama Rot, poisoning, a bite from something, viral infection or a bacterial infection were all possibilities. As he made it through the night, Alabama Rot, was thankfully dismissed, put simply he would have died if he'd had it. Over the weekend, blood tests showed his organs were fine, so poisoning ruled out. Needless to say I have watched his doggy friends like a hawk, and all are well, so viral not likely.
Rolo was allowed home on Sunday, though he was still very weak. He wouldn't eat anything at the vets, and it was hoped being in familiar surroundings would help. It took time, over 5 days of not eating, and I was getting quite desperate. Getting drugs into him was a nightmare. Eventually, with his buddies breathing down his neck, (healthy competition) he took a little scrambled egg, and now his eating has taken off, though I'm feeding little and often. He's pretty much back to his old self, character wise, though dreadfully thin. He's walking confidently, and much stronger.
I'll never really know what has gone on, but it would appear a violet case of food poisoning, is the likely scenario, though Rolo is not really a scavenger. We are in the countryside so foxes and birds of prey may have dropped a tasty, but harmful, morsel in the fields.
I've just let him have a tiny, on the lead walk. He was so excited to find a ball.
Those who have met him will agree he's a super little chap, I'm just thankful I didn't loose him.

Off to Cornwall today, for a life by the seaside, and with a Crystalwood Cockapoo to keep her company. The cheeky one of the bunch, Mopsy, now Kizzy 🏖.
Having her a week on her own, there's quite a bond. I think a tear or two will be shed, and half sister Crazy Daisy will miss her.
