We have a Flemish Giant rabbit staying with us for a few days. It’s my first time with this breed, but he’s just the sweetest. Not every rabbit comes up voluntarily for affection, but this one certainly does! He loves head scratches and closes his eyes for them.

I used the C&C grids to construct a larger, L shaped enclosure for him.

Welcoming one of our guinea pigs, Rosie, to the family four years ago. Don’t mind the cage in the background. Pet shops will try and sell those to new owners, but we soon learned that piggies prefer much more space and went out and bought C&C enclosures.

Some of you have been asking what our ‘set ups’ look like. All our animals are kept indoors, so we can keep a close eye on them and keep them safe from predators and flies. Here is an example of a set up I got ready for today’s new guests, who are guinea pigs ❤️

As anyone with multiple pigs will know, when the weather heats up it can start to smell a bit guinea piggy indoors, no matter how well you keep up with cage cleaning.

I bought this air purifier by Shark from Amazon, and it has been a complete game changer. Not cheap, but worth every penny.

Happy Guinea Pig Appreciation Day!

We provide Guinea pig care at a very reasonable rate. £5 per visit to people’s homes, plus a contribution to travel, and £6 per night per enclosure at our place. We provide the delicious food and hay!

Happy New Month, everybody! Quite a lot on this month , mainly with cats 🐈‍⬛ and guinea pigs. Although we’re based in Teignmouth, we can visit pets anywhere that’s accessible from the Exmouth to Paignton railway line.

We also do medication by mouth, so don’t panic if your pet needs medicine while you’re away. Just let us know timings and dosage.

It’s gardening season! Rabbit p**p has four times more nutrients than cow or horse manure and is twice as rich as chicken fertilizer. Cow, horse and chicken manure are considered “hot” and need to be composted (well-rotted) to use as fertilizers. One of the best things about rabbit manure is it doesn't need to be composted and can be added straight to your garden. It is also slow release.

We are selling 400g bags for £6 each and 100g bags for £2.

Keeping rabbits and guinea pigs can be expensive, so it’s a good idea in spring and summer to supplement their diet with free, foraged flowers and grasses. I think this is part of the reason mine have lived so long! Always make sure you get them from woodland or another place where they’re growing wild, and haven’t been sprayed by the council or anyone else.

Daisies, dandelions and herb robert are among my piggies’ favourites to sprinkle on their morning hay.

Guinea pigs are social animals and must be kept in pairs or groups. Males only do well as a bonded pair, although you will see groups of very young males in shops. This is our bonded pair, Flash and Theo.

It’s important to weigh your Guinea pigs on a regular basis, as their weight can be an important indicator of their health. A healthy female piggie will weigh between 900g and 1110g, and a male can be up to 1500g.
