Canine Enrichment with Kongs

My story

I have always been surrounded by animals, ever since a young age. Having grown up on a farm, animals were a big part of my life. From dogs, cats, horses, cows, sheep, ferrets, rabbits, guinea pigs, poultry, goats and even chinchillas.

I finally decided to train as a dog groomer, as I am also very creative and thought this would be perfect. And I love it! I chose to do ‘in-house’ grooming as I have a very nervous rescue Greyhound who would hate to be in an unfamiliar environment (she is also dog reactive following being attacked), and knew that there must be other sensitive dogs where a standard grooming environment would not be suitable for them.

I have also chosen to offer other pet services: walking, sitting and general livestock/ equine duties. Like many dog owners, there are very few people who I trust with my dogs, so unless we holiday in this country (where they come with us), then we generally do not go anywhere. Luckily, I have always been able to come home during the day for the dogs, and have never needed to employ a dog walker.

I know many people are not as fortunate, and that they do require a walker/ someone to pop in for their dogs during the day. With experience with large dogs (and reactive ones), I would love to be able to put owner’s minds at ease that their dog/s are being cared for by someone who treats them as they would their own dogs.

I studied Agriculture at a local college (Askham Bryan) upon leaving school, and have my own small flock of pedigree sheep. I have experience milking dairy cows; showing beef cattle, sheep & horses; and also lambing.
