This bundle of madness is now on holiday with me for two weeks ;) let's see how calm I can return him
As a behaviourist I offer help in understanding how to think dog, with a positive attitude I never give in and aim to leave you feeling confident.
About me, I shall leave it to someone else....
"It was by pure chance that I met Dan whilst out dog walking one day. And, I have to say I have been counting my blessings ever since! I had been investigating dog walkers for months before I met Dan and had almost given up hope of ever finding the right person to for my nervous Jack Russell. Dan is just lovely and has a natural ability with dogs. He
is calm and assertive and has vast knowledge of dog psychology. He thoroughly enjoys his work and takes the time to really get to know you and your dog. He is 100% trustworthy and reliable and even has his own key for my house. He is kind and understanding and a great communicator – which is important as we know it’s not really the dogs who need training – it’s the owners! "We would recommend Dan without hesitation. He is reliable, calm, friendly, trustworthy and in control. Ruby had a terrible habit of jumping up and nipping at men in the street (among other worryingbehaviours) and Dan has managed to socialise her so that this no longer happens. She is also much better around other dogs -- before Dan took her on she would invariably go in for the attack. She is a complex, nervous dog, but many of her antisocial behaviours are under control, thanks to Dan. He has a lovely bond with Ruby, she really loves and respects him. Dan has never let us down, turns out in all weathers and is wonderful value for money." I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending Dan and would be more than happy to speak to new clients. He is looking after my dog whilst I go on holiday and to be honest, I wouldn’t leave her with anyone else! Thanks Dan - what would we do without you?”

Sad but like so many she has still not found a home :(
Have a good weekend :)
If other animals do not fear death as we do, it is not because we know something they do not. It's because they are not burdened by time.
R.I.P Jack, your still teaching me x
Every dog today has been amazing, remember it doesn't just help know what your doing. Feeling happy helps a lot too. ;)
Out of 5 dogs the little pug was the worst but only 5months old will let it off for now ;-)
Ones is the daddy, the other thinks he is. Give him a couple of weeks and they both will be ;-)
Today The Packman dog trainer and behaviourist, dog joined me on a walk with a bit of an over excited client, she was the perfect teacher and helper. Thanks beryl, good job ;-)
Glorious Sunday to be back in Brighton and wonderful dog to walk.
Pesky rabbits ;-), nice to be back on a Brighton walk.
Just can't stop there ;-)
His second week with me and now this is what he does before the walk waiting for me to be ready. Confident , calm and patience, they soon get the message.
Great day visiting some old friends in Brighton today
I travelled to Andover today to meet this little bundle of excitement, really nice place to visit and wonderful owners. Remember dogs know boundaries, taught to them by their mother, all we have to do is keep it up or remind them. It's never to late to change a behaviour but it helps to start young. ;-)
Most important part of the walk, the start. Don't normally have favourites but he is wonderful ;-)
Perfect first walk, just another over playful bear ;-) remember how you first meet the dog and leave with it are fundamental.
So got a call from the local council for a old guy that re homed this big boy for company, first dog Walker said he just can't be controlled, gave up after a week. Was putty in my hands in 5 minutes ;-)
Always the person never the dog
Perfect first walk and finished off by showing something that the owner would of never done. Remember that you must always be calm and confident.
Meet Rico, his problem is pulling and going at every dog, while I showed that he can walk nicely and meet other dogs the small things that happen in the house before you leave are normally the start that we tend to over look. When we sort the small things out the big problem are easier to handle or don't even happen. ;-)
My new book, very interesting. We have done it with humans for a long time but was used on horses in the 1900 then on to dogs and other animals. I've attach a short video. Well worth looking into :-)
( video is in the comments)
After getting the dog to know I lead, today we are on the longboard. He was perfect ;-)
After gaining the trust on the first session she is now learning to stay in her own space before being invited into ours, remember dogs need clear rules and boundaries and confident owners. Respect is something you earn and this can only be done by giving rules and being consistent with them ;-) even if you do fail just repeat and try again.
Meet my new mate, an over playful giant schnauzer. Such an amazing dog to work with, very well trained already just needed a walker that knows what there doing and that I do ;-)
New case that has only recently been rescued from a shelter, she is suffering with separation anxiety and not travelling well after the first session a small improvement has been seen. Remember that some change happens quickly and some will take time. Just don't give up ;-)
This includes cats and rabbits ;-)
A little bit less nervous after 5 hours with me yesterday but insecurity is not a quick fix the best medicine is time and understanding, with a lot of patience.
Ready for her calm trip to vet normally she doesn't handle it well so let's see what happens with me ;-)
