J & J, the brothers, had their last walk with myself and the gang.
After a very eventful start because they ran off over the fields opposite Hadleigh castle for 2 hours because a friend and I suggested we do 1 more lap of the field as it was Friday and a glorious day...what a mistake that was! 🤣
They soon became well behaved and would chase either each other around the field or dig the ground as they smelt something.
I've walked them for nearly 4.5 years and it's been so much fun.
It's now time for them to move to a new house. They'll be greatly missed, but I'm sure they will both enjoy having a bigger garden and loads of walks in the country.

If you are not sure if your dog will chase sheep, do the decent thing and stay away from the area for a while, or at least keep your dog on a lead and walk at a distance where neither are going to become aware of the other's presence.
Hi folks, we have some exciting news to share!
For the next few months, the Shoebury Old Ranges SSSI (Site of Special Scientific Interest) will be home to a flock of conservation grazing sheep.
These sheep are part of the Essex Wildlife Trust flock and have been brought over to help improve this precious coastal grassland. The goal is for the sheep to browse on the tall grasses to provide space and light for flowers and rare coastal plants to flourish. This will also improve habitat for ground nesting birds, owls, kestrels, lizards, bees, butterflies and more.
This is a first for Gunners and follows on from successful grazing projects at some of our other reserves so it's very exciting indeed!
Animal welfare is our top priority, and these sheep have been provided with everything they need to thrive. All sheep will be checked every single day by specially trained staff to make sure they are fit and well.
The sheep will be behind a locked fence at all times and should not come into close contact with people or dogs but please do give them space and help us out by reporting any issues.
Report harassment by people or dogs to the police directly to avoid any delays: 999 or 101
For any other issues or for more information contact us here on Facebook or by visiting www.essexwt.org.uk/contact-us
Thank you!

This is exactly the reason I would organise for the owners to come and visit my home so they can see where their dogs would be staying.
Please make sure whoever is looking after your dog has a license, otherwise this could be the conditions they are being kept in.
Businesswoman Georgina Bodle turned a rented property in Drayton Bassett into a boarding kennel and breeding centre without a proper licence, with dogs kept in shocking conditions

10 years ago today, my first client, Freddy, sadly passed away.
He was a fantastic dog who loved me just as much as he did his owner. She said many times that he was "our dog".
I still miss you and the bond we had.
After the first year of his passing it's still not getting any easier without him. RIP little buddie, I miss you so much. (I do not own the music)

Today is a landmark celebration for me, as I officially started the company 15 years ago!
I want to say a massive heartfelt "Thank You" to every single person who has wanted me to care for, walk, help transport across the country, take to the vet for the first (or sadly last time) and train their dog. Without you, I would not be able to do the job I love.
Over the years I've cared for many different animals, from birds and fish to Chinchillas and snakes. As great as they all were, I preferred working with dogs, so focused my attention on them.
It really means so much to care for your dogs and to still have 1st generation clients is amazing.
Here's to the next 15 years!

How to help a dog with separation anxiety
This video is short snippets from 2 videos. They are 4 minutes apart.
You don't need to force a dog to do what you want.
If you only ever tell a dog what to do, then it won't do what you want unless you tell them.
If you are having trouble with dog reactivity, or in this case separation anxiety between dogs that live together, get in touch.

the power of engagement
This is what engaging with your dog can do to their behaviour.

Despite what some trainers say, lead walking is not about physically controlling your dog from being able to be in any other position than by your side.
To get your dog to walk better on the lead you need to make yourself more fun than everything else, otherwise your dog will want to get everything it can see, sniff and hear.
Here's a short clip of how to make loose lead walking easier for you. This was in the same session.
A more in depth video will be coming tomorrow.

A handy tip when you're out walking your (reactive) dog.
#reactivedog #dogtraining #dogs
This is brilliantly said.
#dogs
Dogs are associative learners.
They learn by how they feel in situations and experiences.
If they feel good in a situation or from an experience, they'll want to do it again.
If they don't, they won't.
I walk this Shep 4 times a week and he didn't know I had turned up for his training session, until..
In order for your reactive dog to learn how to cope when seeing a dog or another trigger, you need to be far enough away where they can see it but are also able to not feel too stressed.
The lead also needs to be loose as to not add to any extra stress or cause frustration.
Watch what happens as soon as the owner relaxes it..

Dog body language, learn the signs.
Don't let this happen just because you want to cuddle a dog.
