Hope all the dog mamas had a lovely day today. Here's a wee poem for you:

A Lesson on Love:

My dog and I do not speak the same language. Yet every day, she tells me: I trust you to know when I need to go for a walk. I will let you hold me when you need to and I will ask you for love when I need it.

On the days you are sick, I will lie beside you. I will look for you in rooms when you are not here, and I will greet you with so much joy when you come home. I will guard you when you sleep. I will wag my tail and let you know that everything will be okay on your bad days, and I know that you will do the same on mine.

And from this I learn that my dog and I actually do speak the same language.

After all, the universe is a kindly ancient thing. It gave love as a mother tongue to every being.

WowDog was born in 2011 because we didn’t feel right about feeding our lovely beagle Breagh mass-produced dog treats.

Originally created as a collaboration with BrewDog, using spent grain from their brewery in Ellon, these little beauties remain one of our most popular flavours.

Be assured, the spent grain never comes into contact with alcohol or hops (did you know that hops are toxic to dogs?) so the treats are 100% alcohol free as well as 100% tasty. 🤍

🤍 UPF free. All of our ingredients can be found in the kitchen cupboards- not the lab! There is no room for ultra processed nonsense in our treats! Yes, adding ultra processed ingredients would make our treats cheaper for us to produce, but that’s not what we’re about. We’re about natural food for dogs.

🤍 Top-notch ingredients. Locally grown oats. Local eggs laid by the happiest hens around. Cold pressed locally grown rapeseed oil- not the refined version. Peanut butter that is 100% peanuts- no added anything. Our ingredients list is nothing short of virtuous! 😇

🤍A little bit fancy. Well, if they were good enough for the Queen and her dogs- enough said really 😜 We love to give value to our customers and we feel proud that we deliver on this. We are all about the cookie cutters at WowDog. Did you know that each and every WowDog treat is individually hand cut out especially for your dog? Over the years we must have cut out so many thousands of bones, stars, hearts and many more! It’s what we’re all about.

But is our business “cookie cutter” just like all the others? That’s a definite no way!

We’re absolutely nothing like the big companies that mass-produce dog treats using the cheapest ingredients, artificial colours and flavours and synthetic preservatives to extend shelf life. We would never want to be producing junk food for dogs!

The seasons are changing fast and with the clock change imminent, I think we can safely say that Coorie Season is upon us.

When the weather is raining and blowing a gale, is there anywhere else more lovely to be than snuggling up in front of a roaring fire with your best buddy right there alongside you? Add a wee dram or a hot chocolate and something good on tv and you’ve got the makings of a perfect Saturday in.

Did you know that Louisa founded WOWDOG 12 years ago when she began baking all-natural treats for her beagle, Breagh?

In those early days, everything was done the old fashioned way, including mixing the recipe with a wooden spoon- a mixer wasn’t an option back then.

The original dog treats were cheesy bones with cheddar sprinkled on top, cut into bone shapes with a cutter gifted to Breagh by Louisa's friend, for Christmas.

From the start, Louisa's top priority was to use only healthy ingredients for her dog, ensuring that she was providing something genuinely beneficial.
