Today’s adventure s started with a lovely welcome walk with handsome Obi ready for his regular walks from September, followed by sniffs and snuffles in the shade at Staple Hill Forest at lunchtime. 🥰🐾🐕‍🦺

Signs of sunburn sadly are often seen only when the damage has been done.
Signs:
⚠️Area of redness
⚠️Blisters
⚠️Pain
⚠️Crusting
⚠️Itching
⚠️Flaking
⚠️Hair loss
To prevent sunburn:
✅Walk your dog early/late in the day
✅Make sure your dog has access to plenty of reachable shade - for some dogs you may need to encourage this
✅Don't allow your dog to sunbathe in direct/hot sun especially those more at risk
✅Apply dog friendly sun protection to vunerable areas - don't use human sun protection as many contain ingredients which may be toxic for dogs. Remember to apply this at least 15 minutes before your dog goes outside

Some great, simple tips for keeping our pups cool during this warm spell. 🥰

Is your pup feeling the heat? 🥵 Keep your furry friend cool and comfortable with these tips:
💇‍♀️ Brush away the heat: Regular brushing helps remove excess fur and keeps them cool.
🐾 Cool down their paws and head: A damp flannel can work wonders on those hot spots.
🐕 Dive into fun: A paddling pool is a paw-some way to cool off! 💦
🚿 Refresh and rejuvenate: A cool shower can be a paw-some way to beat the heat!
Remember, always provide plenty of fresh water and avoid strenuous exercise during the hottest parts of the day. 🐶💦

Due to the intense heat today, lunchtime group moved to morning group for a lovely shaded walk in the woods with a paddle to! We welcomed Hazel on our walks today to. She joins us from The WAG, Taunton for the next two weeks whilst Charleane enjoys a well deserved holiday! 🥰😘🐕‍🦺

Finally, we are expecting some glorious sunshine over the next few days ☀️…… However it is extremely important that we are mindful as to how this heat will affect our furry friends! Here at The WAG, Wellington our dogs safety and wellbeing is our priority therefore if you are booked for walks over the next couple of days these walks will be at an earlier time ( emails and messages sent) before the heat of the day and these early walks will still be at shaded destinations. 🥰🐾🐕‍🦺

A ball and a muddy puddle….. what more could a spaniel ask for! 🤦🏻‍♀️😂 Thank goodness for my super duper doggy washer to ensure, that come rain, mud or smelly stuff, your dogs are always returned home nice and clean! 🥰🐕‍🦺🐾

FANTASTIC FRIDAY ALERT!! what a wonderful day! Started with a lovely pre walk and catch up with Donna at The Walkies Pack with a lovely coffee from Neil’s Coffee Stop at the basin. Then on to lunch time walkies with a super spaniel’s session ….🥰 @ netherclay Followed by a drop in with another gorgeous spaniel boy. 🥰
