I am absolutely BLOWN AWAY by the incredible following we have, once again.
I'm in floods of tears writing this!
Within half hour of me posting our veterinary bill that we could not pay straight away today after the last one, a lady has called up and paid the ENTIRE amount off.
I have no words and it takes a lot to leave me speechless!

Thankyou, once again.
I love you all.
Another day of not having to chuck the towel in! ❤️
I'm so grateful.
Thankyou.

PAID ❤️❤️❤️
Thankyou so much!
However, you can still add credit to our balance to help with future bills if you'd like to still help! ❤️
This is proof of last nights veterinary bill!
It looks like I'm back to selling stuff!
🤣🤣

I've included the vets payment details below incase any of you would like to help us out with this bill.
Please quote our rescue name in the donation sent to the vets otherwise it may get lost.
That's 3k of veterinary bills within a couple of weeks, but i wouldn't have it any other way if it saves the animals! ❤️

Credit where it is due, Garston vets are an absolutely incredible vets and i cannot thank them enough for their team work with us over the years.
They have saved hundreds of lives with us, including the famous Bella who they did not give up on no matter what.
We are incredibly lucky to have such a fantastic team here in Frome.
This morning has been nothing short of a nightmare.

At around 2am we had an animal suddenly collapse with little to no warning.
She turned purple, screamed and then dropped to the floor.
It is easily one of the most traumatic things I've witnessed mixed with the emotions of feeling completely powerless to do anything as it is way out of my area.
Within 10 minutes we were at the vets where she was put on oxygen and they worked to save her.
That drive was one of the longest, time was so slow.
They called the head vet who was tucked up fast asleep in bed, and he was there with us within another 10 minutes.
They've done everything to help her, i couldn't have wished for better support and kindness
We still do not know what the outcome is going to be at this stage but i am so thankful these amazing and dedicated people are there at all hours.
They've saved so many lives with us and for other people, i struggle to compare them to anyone else. ❤️

We are going to have one very large veterinary bill to pay today with it being out of hours and being so critical.
Please do not say anything about vets pricing, they deserve every penny and more for what they do for us.
If you can help us pay chunks off of this bill to ease the immense pressure we have currently, we would be incredibly grateful.
All you need to do is call them and state the rescue name to help pay off the latest bill.
Please do not call for small amounts, although i am incredibly grateful, as i do not want to clog up the phone lines for very poorly animals with multiple calls.
Smaller amounts can be sent to our rescue bank account listed on the page and this will be sent today towards paying some of it off.
If you cannot help donation wise, please keep us in your thoughts instead and wish our beautiful girl well again.
As always, i appreciate you all so much.
Thankyou ❤️

Today has been absolutely crazy.
Infact, crazy is even an understatement!!
As soon as we've answered one call, another comes through before we can even put the phone back on the table.
It's 10:30pm, neither of us have eaten yet or showered.
I've not even had a glass of water all day!

Here is just a few of the casualties today.
The usual, RTA and cat victims!

We need funds urgently, so I'm auctioning off our double airfryer!
It is full working order and not used much but some of the paint has been taken off from over scrubbing the tray.
It doesn't effect the use at all and apart from this, it is pristine!

This will finish tomorrow at midnight. (26th August)
Starting at £10
Please put your offer in the comments below.
Highest bid by tomorrow midnight wins!
Happy bidding!

To you, he is just a pigeon.
To me, he's another life to save!

This dear little thing came in with a horrendous wound full of disco rice. (Maggots)
You may have seen him posted to the Frome page.
He was being eaten alive.
I removed all said disco rice, cleaned up the wound and closed it off.
The wound was so bad and deep that it had completely opened his crop up.
This was done by a cat unfortunately so the odds were against him.
It was touch and go whether it would actually work, but it has and he's able to eat properly now with no leaks!
He's heading up fantastically.
He's lost an eye but he's an incredibly strong little squab who will make a full recovery.
With his disability, he will join our captive flock of pidgies as he would be vulnerable if released with one eye.
He will live a full happy life and this is proof that not everything needs to be euthanized!
Video of him will be in the comments of this post!

P.s
The crop is essentially the second stomach on a bird!

Our Story

Hello and welcome to Cornpop Critter Rescue. We are a completely non profit rescue that is run by myself and my Grandmother on a large bit of land. Animals have always been our passion and their welfare is one of our biggest concerns. We absolutely adore them no matter what they are and try to help as many as we can...big or small! We help a variety of animals including all forms of wild animals and most species of domesticated animals, we are very knowledgeable with most species. I personally have rescued and rehabilitated both domesticated and wild animals for the past ten years with much success. With wild animals we aim to release but if this is not possible, we will keep them here permanently at the rescue providing it is ethical and fair to the animal in question. We are currently not open to the public due to Covid 19 unless otherwise stated. Should you need advice about an animal whether that be to do with housing or care, please feel free to pop us a message and we will try our very best to advise. Should we not know the answer, we can direct you to someone who does! Should you need us to help with an animal, please pop us a message with all information on said animal(s). If it is urgent, please contact us directly on the number provided on the page. We are completely non judgmental no matter the situation and everything remains confidential. Please note that all animals up for rehoming have a homing fee to cover all aspects of care including veterinary fees. We will also need to see where the animal will be living and what accomodation he/she will be living in. All animals are quarantined for a minimum of 2 weeks prior to rehoming as a standard procedure to prevent the spread of illness and disease. Thankyou for reading and king regards, Lauren.
