Just recently we have taken in multiple dogs with issues that have been expensive and ongoing. We know its frustrating for you when it looks like we are not being responsive - we try really hard but sometimes the dogs come so thick and fast that they have to be our priority. We don't like to let our followers down, but we are a very small team all doing our best. To those of you that have been frustrated, or felt that we have been remiss, we are sorry.
Hopefully seeing all we have had going on behind the scenes will give you a little more understanding of why sometimes it takes us a little longer than normal to respond to message or update everyone - We are grateful to everyone for their understanding and support.
Paddy - Little Paddy came to us as an urgent case, this little lad has no front feet at all. Despite this, he is a happy little chap who has no idea that he is perfectly imperfect. He will need X Rays to ascertain the exact situation with regards to his bone, what he has, what is missing. We will also need to raise funds for a front set of wheels for when he is ready to get out and about.
Lucy - CKC Spaniel, came to us in a terrible state, she has an absolute chronic skin issue that has been left untreated for a long time and it will take time, patience along with multiple vet visits and on going treatment to get this little lady back to a healthy dog who is ready for rehoming.
Barry - Bedlington Terrier, he came in with multiple issues, he had a massive tumour on his tail, multiple other infected lumps and bumps and a generalised skin infection. He also had the worst mouth we have seen in a long time. It was a priority to remove the tumour, sadly it had been left and had progressed so that it became necessary to remove his tail very close to the base, to ensure that everything could be completely removed. He has also had all other warts and bumps removed, poor lad has lost most of his teeth as they were in such a terrible state. On the up side this 14 year old lad is doing well
Hector - This lad came to us with a terrible skin issue which had not been treated, he was very underweight and lacking in any muscle tone. He was also suffering from a very deep ear infection in both ears, his treatment is still ongoing but he is making good progress following multiple vet visits and multiple investigations
Red - The last pup from Poppy, it was noted when he was tiny that there appeared to be an issue with his back legs. He didn't mobilise like the rest of the litter and he struggled to remain standing. He has been seeing the vet and having physio, we will need to continue this for some time yet and potentially look to arranging hydrotherapy for him. When you have no history for mum, the only knowledge we have is that she was clearly underweight, had not been fed to maintain a pregnancy and likely not been checked to be healthy prior to becoming pregnant, we have no idea why he has issues or what may have caused them. We can only support this little lad and find a way to giving him his best life.
Obviously those that have been following us know that Labubu also needed to have her eye removed, despite our best efforts and continued treatment we could not save her eye. She is recovering well thankfully.
These dogs are the urgent ones who have all needed immediate medical attention. Our bills have been massive and continue to grow. The dogs don't deserve to suffer and we will always do all we can. You too can help these dogs and others just like them by donating to help us cover their vet bills, ensure physio and hydro treatments, to buy Paddy some wheels, or to help cover the cost of Lucy's medications and the same for Hector.
