I really cannot agree with this statement. Grooming dogs at home is hugely risky, brushing them yes, but taking care of matts, well I’ve seen a fair few need stitches from this money saving hack!!

Grooming is extremely important, take care of your pets coat and that in turn helps with their skin and improves well-being as matted fur is painful and can cause a whole array of expensive problems!!

For me (my opinion) this is money saving gone too far. If your dog needs grooming on a regular schedule then leave it to the experts. The £10 you may save on stretching out appointment times could cost you more in vet visits dealing with painful and sore skin problems associated with not keeping the coat in good shape!

The first trip to your chosen groomer should be a lovely one. Not left matted for months making it an uncomfortable one. This is a life long relationship for some dogs, make it a great experience.

Young dogs need to be exposed to different experiences and the sooner the better. Give them that puppy pamper.
