Guinewigs

Guinewigs was founded by Rachel Sanderson who - despite her allergies - loves guinea pigs with all of her heart. We’re based in Blackpool and rescue guinea pigs (and occasionally other small animals, though our focus is on cavies) from all over the North West of England, treat any illnesses / conditions they have, then re-home them to responsible and loving families. We do not re-home to nurseries, schools, retirement homes or any other establishments that cannot provide full-time care and attention for our fury friends.

As the rescue is currently run out of Rachel’s own home, we also foster a number of our piggies to trusted members of the local community. We have a small team of volunteers that help with cleaning and maintenance, and we occasionally receive donations of hay, sawdust, food and guinea pig toys and accessories from local businesses and community members - of which we are eternally grateful. We also receive monetary donations to help with the upkeep of the sanctuary.

We are not a registered charity, though we will be looking in to that as we grow. We currently publish all news and guinea pig availability on our page, though we’re also working on a website that will provide all information on our adoption process and how you can support us.
