From a young age I have always loved dogs but I never knew that dog grooming was a career! the beauty of dogs coats always fascinated me along with Groomers ability to create something so beautiful! its not just a groom its an art form!
Fast forward a few years i found myself in an apprenticeship in a local grooming parlour, here i learned the value of loving you job! Meeting lots of different breeds of dogs that I had never seen in person coming through the door was so amazing! I truly loved getting up in the morning putting on my grooming attire and picking up a pair of scissors was the best feeling in the world! gaining new skills from clipping nails and shaving pads to eventually completing grooms solo was so rewarding and I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity and being taught so well. Of course though with every job their a down sides; dogs coming into the salon severely matted, underweight and clearly being neglected, having to go through processes of reporting to the SSPCA and feeling so powerless was drowning and those day I found myself flinging myself down on my bed at the end of the day and crying my eyes out at how anyone could be so cruel to something so innocent. This made my job so incredibly difficult and the ability to enjoy my job like I once did. So I left, decided that trying to do one of my other passions would be better.
Little did I know that not even a year later I would miss it so much that it hurt of look back at my previous grooms. So here we are Bark ‘N’ Bones- Dog grooming! my own business! Something to show the world this is what I love to do. I want to thank everyone who has shown me so much support this past few weeks, the clients that have booked in and the doggies making my job so worth it! It takes a lot to start up on your own but I am so glad I have taken the leap! So here’s to onward and upwards! Grooming some lovely doggies and hopefully helping those who really need it.
